Dear Family !
Tonight and the remainder of this week we will be doing and intentional prayer walk for our government, leaders, peace, and our family! I feel that this week we need to be focused here. When we wake up in the morning do we go on auto-pilot and take things for granted? I think we do, I know that I do. This week's challenge is to write down what you and what I take for granted. Let's see what we come up with . I walked to The Green Album with John Williams and the Boston Pops Orchestra. There were two pieces that I will be putting in the music sampler and also I will add the lyrics in below. The words pack a punch as well, they should. The first one comes from Candide
Make Our Garden Grow- Candide
CANDIDE
You've been a fool
And so have I,
But come and be my wife.
And let us try,
Before we die,
To make some sense of life.
We're neither pure, nor wise, nor good
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house and chop our wood
And make our garden grow...
And make our garden grow.
CUNEGONDE
I thought the world
Was sugar cake
For so our master said.
But, now I'll teach
My hands to bake
Our loaf of daily bread.
CANDIDE AND CUNEGONDE
We're neither pure, nor wise, nor good
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house and chop our wood
And make our garden grow...
And make our garden grow.
(ensemble enters in gardening gear and a cow walks on)
CANDIDE, CUNEGONDE, MAXIMILLIAN, PAQUETTE, OLD LADY, DR. PANGLOSS
Let dreamers dream
What worlds they please
Those Edens can't be found.
The sweetest flowers,
The fairest trees
Are grown in solid ground.
ENSEMBLE (a cappella)
We're neither pure, nor wise, nor good
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house and chop our wood
And make our garden grow.
And make our garden grow!
(The cow dies)
VOLTAIRE
Ah, me! The pox!

And
The Promise of Living from the Tender Land
The lyrics are by Horace Everett:
The promise of living with hope and thanksgiving
Is born of our loving our friends and our labor.
The promise of growing with faith and with knowing
Is born of our sharing our love with our neighbor.
The promise of loving, the promise of growing
Is born of our singing in joy and thanksgiving.
For many a year we’ve know these fields
And know all the work that makes them yield.
We’re ready to work, we’re ready to lend a hand.
By working together we’ll bring in the blessings of harvest.
We plant each row with seeds of grain,
And Providence sends us the sun and the rain.
By lending a hand, by lending an arm
Bring out the blessings of harvest.
Give thanks there was sunshine, give thanks there was rain,
Give thanks we have hands to deliver the grain.
O let us be joyful, O let us be grateful to the Lord for his blessing.
The promise of living, the promise of growing
The promise of ending is labor and sharing and loving.
As you can see when you read these lyrics there are quite a few things to pray and give thanks for. I give thanks for you and will never take you or our journey or this blog and our time together for granted. I love you !
Have a blessed night dear family. Before your slumber pray for our government, peace, and all of our family members on the planet!
Love and peace of mind!
Sara
