Bridge week: Building bridges and tearing down walls.

Dear Family of Love !

I hope and pray that everyone is having a good day and  knew that today was and still is You Matter Monday. You Matter! Go to the nearest mirror and tell yourselves that you matter and I love you and your name. Do that now before we settle in. We are approaching Mid-Lent and are well on our way to Holy Week. This time of year I call this bridge week. So that means we will begin to learn how to build bridges and be the hands, feet, voices, and arms that are necessary to bring peace, love, and mercy to this fragile and broken world of ours. What do bridges do? They span gaps and make it safe to cross rivers and creeks. For us, God helps us to be the bridge designer so that we can be the builder of  the bridges. What does building a bridge consist of in our lives of faith? We find ourselves going back the the word CALM (Compassion, Acceptance, Love, and Mercy). In order to build bridges we also need to have these tools at the ready:

Kindness
Gratitude for the gifts our family members bring to the table
Common ground
A willingness to not travel down a negative pathway.
A willingness to change our attitudes that keep us from being united.
A heart home that is ever expanding and going deeper.
A pair of well tuned listening ears and a mouth that is able to be silent and not talk over people.
Arms that are ready to embrace and welcome.
Feet that are ready to run and help when our family members are in crisis.
Hands that are willing to soothe, comfort, serve, and grasp our brother's and sister's hands.
Eyes that are able to see and reflect God.
A voice that is comforting and reassuring.
A smile to radiate God's Light and Love to the world.
Courage to meet our family members half way.
Courage to lay aside our preconceived thoughts about our family members.
The ability to respect the dignity of every human and living being.
Strength to be able to go against society's norms when necessary.
To boldly Go where Jesus is sending us!
To join in the Jesus Movement or if you aren't Christian, The  Movement of Love and Justice and CALM.
The courage to tear down walls that divide us.

Now let us engage in our adapted "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that God is Love.
Be still and know that You are Love.
Be sill and know that I Am Love.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.

Repeat 4 times!

Happy You Matter Monday! Let us join together in our daily Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and be at prayer. Tonight we pray that we may become peace makers and bridge builders. We pray that we may tear down the walls that divide so that we can see each other from the other side of river, border, ego, and unhealthy mindset. May we build bridges based on compassion, acceptance, love, and mercy. May we build bridges by being kind, gentle, just and respecting each other's dignity. May we build bridges with common ground and the knowledge that the God who made us makes us one. This we pray in the Name of God who is Creator, Redeemer,  Holy Comforter and most especially Love. Amen.

Taking time to pray with the ripples in the pond and an excerpt from last year's blog. Think of the ripples being bridges to each other from the center out and back. Flowing into each ripple and flowing back. Think of this as give and take.

What the ripples represent:
The first ripple represents God's love for us
The second ripple represents our love for God
The third ripple represents our love for our family members. You may use the word neighbors.
The fourth ripple represents our love for ourselves
The fifth ripple represents our love for our enemies and those who hate us.
The sixth ripple represents our courage in loving the unlovable.
The seventh ripple represents God's love for all living things
The eighth ripple represents our Love for all living things.
The ninth ripple represents God's love for our invisible and marginalized family members we sometimes forget.
The tenth ripple represents God's reminding us to pray and serve the invisible and marginalized.
The eleventh ripple represents God's presence in our lives
The twelfth ripple represents our presence in God's life
The thirteenth ripple represents God's relationship with us
The fourteenth ripple represents our relationship with God.
The fifteenth ripple represents God's working through us in service to the world.
The sixteenth ripple represents our oneness in, with, and through God.
The three Sabbath Days represent Love, Love, and more love for God, every living thing, and each other.

So dear ones we will take time to pray the ripples tonight and as we do we will respond in this manner :  I love God, God Loves me, I love my family members and  neighbors, My Neighbors and family members love myself, and I love me just as I love God and my family members.

Love Challenge Week! Let's talk about being family!

Dear Family of Love,

Happy day of Sabbath Rest. I hope everyone had the opportunity to rest, relax, and renew. I'm hoping that you were able connect and reconnect with your family members today. It is never easy on Sunday but remember a few weeks ago I suggested that we enact our own blue laws and stay out of stores and devote our lives to family? Let's continue to try to do so. This isn't the time to choose retail therapy over family. Our family members are our human connections to God. They are more important than the Magic Of Macy's and the outlet malls. So let us make it a habit on the final remaining weeks of Lent to add to our Love Challenge, the importance of being family on Sundays. When Easter arrives we will all be ready for an easier time of being family and nothing will have to be forced. Let us try. If you don't have a family nearby, consider choosing your own or becoming part of a faith community. No one has to be alone.

Tonight let us meditate on what it means to be family and go deeper and discover what it means to be part of  the amazing Family of God/Love.

Let us begin by praying these prayers from the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER

For the Human Family
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us
through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole
human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which
infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us
unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and
confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in
your good time, all nations and races may serve you in
harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.

 For Peace
Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn
but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the
strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that
all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of
Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and
glory, now and for ever. Amen.

For the Poor and the Neglected
Almighty and most merciful God, we remember before you
all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us
to forget: the homeless and the destitute, the old and the sick,
and all who have none to care for them. Help us to heal those
who are broken in body or spirit, and to turn their sorrow
into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for
our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

 For the Oppressed
Look with pity, O heavenly Father, upon the people in this
land who live with injustice, terror, disease, and death as
their constant companions. Have mercy upon us. Help us to
eliminate our cruelty to these our neighbors. Strengthen those
who spend their lives establishing equal protection of the law
and equal opportunities for all. And grant that every one of
us may enjoy a fair portion of the riches of this land; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

 For Families
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who settest the solitary
in families: We commend to thy continual care the homes in
which thy people dwell. Put far from them, we beseech thee,
every root of bitterness, the desire of vainglory, and the pride
of life. Fill them with faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance,
patience, godliness. Knit together in constant affection those
who, in holy wedlock, have been made one flesh. Turn the
hearts of the parents to the children, and the hearts of the
children to the parents; and so enkindle fervent charity among
us all, that we may evermore be kindly affectioned one to
another; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Now let us engage in the "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that God is Love.
Be still and know that You are Love.
Be sill and know that I Am Love.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.

Repeat 4 times!

Let us now turn our attention from the Academy awards towards our nightly Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and be at prayer. Let us pray for our family members who are struggling. We pray for an end to discrimination and that we may work to be united in love and in common ground. We pray that we may seek to use our voices when we see bigotry, racism, obias, isms, and hatred and anything that divides us one from another and you O, God.
We pray for restful sleep and quiet minds and that we will awaken with loving hearts to serve and care for the least of these and our family members with whom we are learning to love and whom we perceive are different from us.

Here are tonight's prayers:

Here is meditation  and prayer music    Durufle Ubi Caritas Mix

We pray for all of our family members who have yet to know and feel God's love and the love that surrounds them.

We pray that we may lovingly help conserve your Cathedral of Life.

We pray for peace in this world and an end to violence meted upon your children and the relics of civilization.

We pray for all of our family members who are ill in body, mind, and spirit. May they be healed and given comfort.

We pray for all faith communities who are preparing for their week ahead in service and pastoral care. We pray for all who are preparing for the final weeks of Lent, Holy Week and Easter. We pray for all faith communities who care for their faith families and reach out to their wider communities. May we all be loving one to another and seek to find common ground.

We pray these our prayers and thanksgivings and lift them up unto you Jesus! Amen.

Good night dear brothers and sisters of mine! I love you! May you find rest this night and remember to keep the faith fearlessly without fretting. Don't forget to place your worries, anxieties, fears and whatever else troubles you into the Worry/Sabbath Jar prior to You Matter Monday!  I give God thanks for you this night and always.

With infinite and abiding love, peace, and blessings,

Love Challenge Week continues! The biggest challenge of all ! Loving oneself!

Dear Family of Love,

Happy Self-Care and Sabbath Rest Weekend. We find ourselves yet again on retreat and that isn't always easy with all the hustle and bustle life has to offer. We must take time to love ourselves no matter what because if we don't we might find ourselves in the land of dis-ease and become spiritually unwell. Tonight dear ones we are going to go off our usual trek into serious ponder work to take time for more mindfulness and self care. There will be plenty of time to journal and meditate with this week's themes and keywords and concepts tomorrow when you turn off the TV and go off the grid.  We begin our time together with our virtual labyrinth walk before we do our "Be Stills" Use your mouse for your feet. So lets travel into the center of our heart homes to be at one with God.

Tonight's walk will be done in silence! Remember silence is golden and especially during the Lenten Season.

After you complete the labyrinth walk let us meditate on how we can learn to love ourselves who might just be our enemy, hater, and the one family member we seldom think we are estranged from.

Take time to put your timer on or if you must please play this peace of music: The Summons- Bell

Let us now take time for our "Be Stills" Modified version.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that God is Love.
Be still and know that You are Love.
Be sill and know that I Am Love.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.

Repeat 4 times!

It is now time for our daily Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and be at prayer. Tonight let us offer our prayers for peace in the world. For an end to all forms of excessive violence and hatred. We pray that we may be agents of CALM (Compassion,Acceptance, Love, and Mercy) We pray for the homeless, hungry, and all of our family members who may lack warm clothing. We pray for our family members who need safe shelter, nourishing food, and warm clothing and blankets. We pray that we may learn to love God, our family members, our enemies and haters, and ourselves more fully. We pray for all of our family members who are celebrating Sabbath time and all ministers who are in preparation for tomorrow.

Prayers from long ago!

Lord God help us to weather the storms of life and know that you still reside and speak to us even in life's storms and whirlwinds.

Lord God we pray for safety and alertness all the days of our lives. Keep our eyes, ears, and minds alert when we drive, walk, or bike.

Lord God be with all our family members who are in danger throughout the world.

Lord God keep us mindful of the lonely, lost, elderly, young adults, and all those whose families are  estranged.

May we continue to be reminded to connect and reconnect with all our loved ones.

Lord God help us to be hope givers,  peace makers, bringers of joy and love light shiners to this broken world.

Lord God give us the courage and strength to take care of our personal infrastructures ( bodies, minds, and spirits.)

We pray especially for ______________________

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

Love Challenge Week : Beginning to put the pieces together and into action

Dear Family of Love,

Happy Keeping The Faith Friday Fearlessly Without Fretting! Wow I can't believe we are moving into our Self -Care and Sabbath Rest Weekend! That means it is time once again for us to put our worries, anxieties, et al into the Worry/ Sabbath Box. That is our first task before we do our ponder work.  Take your time. When we started this week our task was and is to love our enemies, haters, and family members who differ from us and ask ourselves how we can be of help to them. As it is Friday and those of us who are intentionally following the Lenten season we all know what Fridays represent. Fridays remind us of Good Fridays today I want to change that up a bit and turn Fridays just for a little while into God Fridays and most especially Love Fridays. These mean we put into practice the art of forgiveness by deeply caring and loving our big family members who are or have been our enemies, haters, and estranged from us by differences and circumstances. God gave us these Fridays because He knew the value of family times over the weekends. Family times are times where we learn what it is to love, be loved, and be united as CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, And Merciful) brothers and sisters. This is where we put on our love energy with courage, light, and enlivened spirits. Okay dear brothers and sisters it is time to check in with your family members this weekend or after you read this blog. If you are having any problems connecting with your enemies, haters, and family members with whom you differ please take time to pray and if you need to go see a trusted friend, pastor, imam, rabbi, or PM me on Facebook, DM me on Twitter, or email me at walkwithmeonourjourney@gmail.com . Remember everything we do is step by step and should not be forced. When you are ready you will know.

To get us ready for our weekend let us spend time with our 'Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that God is Love.
Be still and know that You are Love.
Be sill and know that I Am Love.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.

Repeat 4 times!

Now sit quietly and reflect up the day past and enjoy your visit with God. Open wide your heart homes and feel God filling you up with Love Energy.

On this Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly Without Fretting, we light our candles and be at prayer as we keep our tradition of Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigils. Tonight we pray for forgiveness and to let go of anything that is causing division among us. We pray for peace within our hearts and in our worlds. We pray for an end to violence, hatred, fear, bigotry, and anything else in our country that keeps us from being a truly united people in service and for the common good of all. Help us to see God/Love in the eyes of our enemies, haters, the least of these who are our family members, and in ourselves as well. Help us to build bridges and tear down walls.

Tonight we pray for peace in this upsetting world.
God hear our prayer.

We pray for love and peace to prevail in all areas where there is dis-ease.

We pray for all our family members who are being persecuted and made to feel invisible.
