Let's begin our Advent Prayer Walking! Journeying to the manger of Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy!
Dear Family Of Love and fellow Pilgrims on our journey.
It's time to begin to become hydrated with Living Water, Shoe laces tied securely, put on God's love for warmth, and the Holy Spirit's energy of hope. Let us begin our prayer walking and use this suggested framework for the First Week of Advent.
We begin our walk by asking God to be with us on our walk and to help keep us safe.
Take a look around your surroundings and begin to pray for your neighbors and family members. Hint we are all family members.
Notice the streets and the sidewalks, are they rough or are they smooth and safe to walk on. If they are rough pray about and consider calling the City and reporting what streets and sidewalks need fixing. Pray for the fixing of your inner street or side walk. Ask God to help you with those rough edges and make them smooth. Ask God to help you let go and not put unnecessary defenses up.
Before you cross the street for the very first time. Pray for safety on your walk, and ask God to be with those who drive, bike, walk, or skate and travel. Pray for all those who keep us safe. Ask God how you can give our Troops hope this time of year and at all times.
As you pass by any businesses pray for the employees especially those who are laborers and are on their feet all day. What can you do for those who serve you during the year. What kind of things can you do to give them hope if they are having bad spells
Ask God to take the I out of your thinking and replace it with we. We are all in this as a family.
We need ask God to help us see with hope and not look with despair.
Begin your prayer lists and remember that God is as close as your next breath and heartbeat.
After you compete your prayer list give thanks to God for all God's loving kindness.
Don't forget to pray for the homeless, hungry, the sad, the lonely, and those whom this season brings with it on going grief.
God Give Hope to_________________________________
God help us to be your hands, feet, voices, and your agents of hope and love on our journey this day and evermore.
We thank you for letting us carry our prayers and those who have asked us for prayers in our hearts, minds, and spirits. We thank you for making our Feet Swift and Beautiful for thee and guiding our steps on this prayer walk to the manger of Hope, Peace, Love and Joy. Amen.
