Recharging one's battery! Layovers at the Oasis!
Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey!
We had to stop at the local oasis to refresh and recharge our batteries today. In other words we needed to stay at home and rest. I am finding that we are going to have layovers or periods of rest on our journey. This isn't bad, it is just different and all we need to do is go with the flow. I have been reminded by many of you to rest. I'm heeding your words and doing just that. Tonight we pray for all of our family members who won't allow themselves times of prayer and rest.
Dear God we pray this night that we may take and make time to rest. May we rest gentle with you and let go and let you handle things. We know that you already are but we are a stubborn human doings who haven't learned to be human beings.
Help us to unwind and take time to be in prayerful conversation with you. Help us ever to be still and know that you are God.
Give us the courage to channel our energies properly and the gentle nudge of encouragement to do so.
We pray this night for all of us who suffer with Cancer and any other illnesses. We pray for better energy and learn new skills that will help us cope with our illnesses and side effects of treatments.
God we pray for all of our family members who have mental illness and memory disorders. We pray for early intervention and research in to treatments.
We pray for our family members who have chronic illnesses and pain. We pray that they may be able to rest gentle in your arms tonight.
We pray for ourselves and know that this isn't an easy task fore any of us to do. We lift up whatever is going on with us to you so that we may find rest for our bodies, minds, and spirits.
We pray for our family members and the may persons they have requested prayer for. Remembering especially_______________
We pray for all those who have died in the service of our country and for the families who were left behind to mourn.
Gracious and loving God we thank you for this day and all the gifts and surprises you showered upon us. We pray that we may listen to you while we rest and pray and that we may find peace at the center. We lift up our prayers to you O God and in the name of your Son Jesus. Amen.
