Our annual pep talk ! Let's avoid the pre- holiday and holiday hype and be mindful of our bodies, minds, and spirits.

Dear Family of  Love,

Happy Take care Tuesday! I hope everyone managed to do just that. As we approach the time change on Saturday/Sunday we need to be turning our attention to Autumn and Winter care for our bodies, minds, and spirits. As I was setting up for tomorrow's midweek service at St. Peter's late this afternoon I noticed that the lighting had changed and it felt like fall and we were now heading towards that time of year where our emotions and physical selves are challenged Yes, even our spiritual selves too. How many of you are plagued by Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD? If you do it's time to add more light into your lives and yes that means spiritually. Adding  better lighting wherever you are can help. This is also my annual pep talk ! What pep talk you ask ? If you are new to Walk With Me On Our Journey we encourage ourselves not to be engaged in an over abundance of pre- holiday hype. We all must take each day as it comes and not get all wound up about getting decorations, shopping, and prettified for the holidays. We must stop the Glorification of the Business of the yearly holiday hype. We must stop the glorification of busy. Period. Every day we must take time to be more intentional about our self and spiritual care. This means exercising our bodies, minds, and spirits. We also must endeavor to go off the grid earlier and get a good night's sleep.

Tonight's meditation task is to sit quietly with our eyes closed and relax for a period of 10 minutes. You may select music if you would like. Just sit relax and breathe.

As you become more quiet go deeper into the center and find God waiting for you. As you engage in quiet contemplation. What is God saying to you with God's still small voice and in the calm? What do you have to tell God? Are you excited to be in God's presence? Is God's presence a warm and enveloping place? Think on these things.

Now as we prepare for our period of  prayer. Please select one or more:

Lighten our Darkness- Music for the Close of Day

Dear God,
Help us to not become stressed out before we enter into the season of holy days that may become hype filled. Fix our bodies, minds, and spirits on what is important and what is not.

Grant us courage to lay things down stop the glorification of busy and spend time in your most holy presence.

Give us courage to lay down our burdens and all the stresses that cause us distress.

Give us tender hearts to love and serve the least of these and see you in their faces.

Give us strength to care for one another without fear and in the spirit of unity.

Give us the patience to take each day as it comes and not get ahead of ourselves and become rested, relaxed, refreshed, and renewed.

Give us hearts filled with love to the brim and overflowing with love for you and all of our family members who are in need and feeling invisible.

Give us the means to spread hope, love, joy, peace, and shine God's Light to the world in the days ahead.

Use our hands to become your servants to this fragile and broken world.

Use our feet to bring your message of love, peace, redemption, and hope to your world.

Use our voices so that we may speak on behalf of the voiceless.

Use our arms to embrace lovingly those who do not have anyone to love them.

Make our feet sure footed that we may walk the paths that you have set before us without fear.

Make our minds clear that we may see and feel your brightness O God.

Make our spirits light that we may lift others up to see and know you as the loving and merciful God.

Make our bodies strong that we can help others.

Make our lives ready to answer your call and follow where you lead us.

Merciful God Heal all those who are unwell.

Merciful God heal our hearts when we are alone and not feeling like ourselves.

Merciful God we pray for all who are dying and those who have entered into the Thin Places.

Merciful God we pray for all who mourn that we may join you in caring for and giving them comfort, love, compassion, and hope.

We offer our prayers, thanksgivings, remembrances, and celebrations to you and on behalf of others especially______________________

We lift these our prayers to you in the name of your only son Jesus the Christ, our redeemer, brother, and friend. Amen.

Good Night Dear Ones! Have a blessed and restful night! I love you and give thanks to God for you this day and always. I hope that everyone has a Wonderful and Wonder-filled Wednesday. May you take time to join in God's Cathedral of Life and hear God speaking in the cool breeze and bird song.  May you feet be drawn to walk paths where the least of these are and see you in all of our brothers and sisters.

With love and joy and a calm spirit!

Sara
