Holy times and holy paths -Our Pre-Lenten Winter/ Spring Training Framework
Dear Family of Love/God and Pilgrims on Our Journey,
Here is an update on me. Please keep me in your thoughts, light, and prayers.
I went to my 4:00 p.m. Cancer Rehab training session today. I'm now having to modify intensity of workout. The fatigue I am continuing to have makes each day an interesting challenge. I will be doing 3 times a week with John Malinowski hopefully this week. Next week it will be walking with the Cancer group on Monday, Wednesday Cancer Rehab Class, and Friday one on one with John. I don't have confidence in doing my workouts by myself. without a little supervision. I hate this, but life is a day to day.My trainer/ PT has told me that when I walk by myself I need to keep the walks short not the Whole, Holy#3. I'm having to adjust to pain in my joints that sometimes bring me to tears. Hyperparathyrodism sucks! That is the current report. Now let us be about the business of God.
Last evening I promised you our new Pre-Lenten Winter/ Spring Training Framework to help us pray, meditate, and be mindful. We are going break up the day in the following way:
Before you get out of bed in the morning.
Take time for early morning breathing exercises and gentle stretches.
Decide what your daily life's intention is going to be.
Consecrate your day to God and remember the least of these.
Breakfast
Don't forget your first opportunity to be Thankful for what you have and pray for what ever you eat may give your body, mind, and spirits nourishment and energy. This isn't being casual and saying Rub a dub dub thanks for the grub let's eat. We all should make this the most important meal and connection with God of the day.
Morning Break
Time for a time of mindfulness sitting. hydrate and say:
Be Still and Know That I am God.
Be Still and Know
Be Still
Be
Lunch
Another opportunity to be thankful and if you have some kind of devotional see what it has to say.
Do light stretches to get the kinks out.If time permits go outside and do a mini prayer walk.
Afternoon Break
Repeat the morning break set. If you have time take a walk around the block or outside in God's Cathedral of life. Get to know your family members in your neighborhood. This might be a good time for blessing bags and shelf stable lunches.
Dinner: Another time to be thankful and if you have a family a good time to check in.with them. This is a put your cell phones. in a lock box time. Every personal contact we make face to face must not include having a cell phone present. We need to give each other the gift of our presence.
After Dinner extra: Pray with your newspaper or after you watch the nightly news.
Evening
This is our time for our Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigils and possibly reading this blog. Take time for meditating on scripture, music meditation, sitting and emptying out our minds and connecting with God. Opening our heart homes to the holy and feel God's Love energy flowing through you to others.
Bedtime.
Final prayers and meditations and laying anything done amiss at God's feet and asking forgiveness and forgiving and loving those who hate and are our enemies.
This is a time to put your worries, anxieties, fears and what ever else that is bothering you into the Worry/Sabbath Box. No need to have junk in the mind, heart, and soul while you sleep or to keep you awake.
Now rest. Go off the grid. try not to have all your digital devices near you. This is God's time to heal your body, mind, and spirit while you sleep.
Don't forget to include prayer walking as part of a daily exercise along with labyrinths.
+++++
It is now time for our Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and pray for our country and the nations of the world who find themselves in the grip of hatred and fear. We pray that Love and kindness will replace them and that we may be CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful) Children of God and see God in each other's eyes!
God as we prepare for Lent and our yearly period of life and soul enrichment, guide us to what we should do.
God we pray for all who are struggling with mental and chronic illnesses. May they receive healing and help.
God we pray that we may be forgiving towards our enemies, friends, and ourselves.
God we pray that we my practice random acts of kindness and pay it forward.
God we pray for our nation and all nations of the world where there is division and hatred. May we sew seeds of love, mercy, justice, and peace.
God we pray for all who are in abusive situations that they may find sanctuary and courage to leave dangerous relationships. We pray for their family and friends and especially children who are forced to witness terrible abuse.
God we pray and give thanks for families and our friendships that light up our world when our world seems dark.
God we pray for new normals that give us courage to live out our new normals with grace and love.
God help us to know when to speak and when to be quiet.
God may we seek to love others as you love us and not be afraid. May we love authentically and as we really are.
God help us to know what our faith truly stands for and what it does not and freely speak truth to power lovingly and speak and spread the Good News boldly as Jesus did.
God we pray for__________________
God we lift up our prayers in the Name of you only Son Jesus. Amen.
