Love Your Neighbor Week Continues with a few rules of the road. The 10 Commandments of being a Good Neighbor and Family Member

Good Evening Family of Love,

Happy Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly Without Fretting!  We are now into our weekend retreat where we seek to enter into a period of Self -Care and Sabbath Rest. I don't know about you but seeing what has been going on in social media and in our nation doesn't seem like our fellow family members are getting the gist of what loving one's neighbor is all about. The hate, the lack of respect, the bullying, the abuse, and all forms of personal insult and degradation goes against what God and Jesus keep trying to drum into the grey matter between our ears. Jesus tried to tell us every time he used words, examples, and yes even parables. Again and again in those times and today we find ourselves still not absorbing Jesus' teachings. Being a Christian  or more specifically Follower of the Way isn't easy but we must do it if we are baptized members of God's family.  We must take time tonight to dial back in as family members by a gentle reminder with the 10 commandments of being a Good Neighbor and Family Member. We should do this often and before we take time to see these 10 commandments it is time for our weekly writing of our fears, mads, anxieties, and worries into the Worry/Sabbath Box.  Take time pray and let go as you write. 

Here are my 10 Commandments for being A Good Neighbor and Family Member

1 We do not get to hate, harm, or bully anyone.
2 We must accept our neighbors as we accept ourselves unconditionally without reservation.
3 We must seek to see God in each other.
4 We must remember that we all need to care for the least of these. We are the least of these.
5 We must care fore each other and this means being each other's keeper.
6 We must speak kindly and do not engage in gossip or slander.
7 We must listen to each other with our listening ears and hearts without  having an agenda and needing think about how we are going to respond. 
8 We must speak truth to power for the benefit and preservation of all.
9 We must not seek to divide only unite.
10 We must Love one another as God calls us to love God and ourselves.

I don't think I have to say much more than this. I think, no, I know it is time to set our hearts on prayer and meditation. Let us engage in "The Be Stills"

Please repeat slowly and then close your eyes until you feel yourselves going deeper and journeying into your heart homes and in to God's Presence. 


Dear ones, it is time for our Friday Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigils. Let us light our candles and be at prayer. Tonight we pray for peace in our minds, our hearts, our families, neighborhoods, We pray for the courage to speak truth to power and engage in peaceful non-violent protest. We pray that we may listen with listening ears and hearts and find common ground. We pray that we may Love our Neighbors and yes even those with whom there is disagreement. May we find ways to Be CALM       ( Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful) We pray that a new spirit of respect and kindness may spread throughout the world and that we may prayerfully consider wisely again the words of the prophet Isaiah: 

3And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war. 5Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

God is Love and Love is God, may we love you with a gentle and  childlike spirit.

God is Love and Love is God, may we love our family members with a loving heart and a welcoming heart home.

God is Love and Love is God, may we learn to love ourselves and treat ourselves with gentleness and without shame.

God is Love and Love is God, we pray for all who are ill and in any distress of body, mind, and spirit.

God is Love and Love is God, we pray for peace in this fragile and broken world. 

God is Love and Love is God, we pray for all refugees, captives, victims of terror,violence, abuse, and human trafficking.

God is Love and Love is God, we pray for all who are being persecuted by virtue of their sexuality and gender. May they be afforded all human rights and acceptance.

God is Love and Love is God, we pray for all who are mourning and who are pre-grieving. 

God is Love and Love is God, we pray for all who are dying and who have died may they enjoy with joy their new mansion fit for them and in the Thin Places.
