Our Season of Prayer continues! Let us be at prayer for the people and nations in Central America!
Good Evening Dear Family of Love and Prayer Pilgrims!
Tonight I returned to the walking trail without supervision this evening. I'm amazed how good it felt to take the trail again. For the moment I'm allowed only 30 minutes but that is enough for walking and prayers. Don't forget to send in your prayer requests and I will be happy to pray with you and for you.
So how do we do the prayer walk trail in 30? It's very simple: Put on your walking shoes and timer for 30 minutes an d Go and Be with God.
We start out breathing and giving thanks and appreciating God's Cathedral of life.
We begin by praying for our neighbors and neighborhoods.
We pray for safety on our streets and in our towns.
We pray for our family members and friends.
We take in everything we see and let God fill our hearts and heart homes expand
We ask God for forgiveness for anything we have done amiss and forgive those who have wronged us.
This week's season of prayer continues with our focus being the people and nations of Burundi and Central America; The Episcopal Church has links and information on these two regions. Here they are :
Season of Prayer Burundi
Season of Prayer Central America
We have been given permission to use these prayers from the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER during this season:
Prayers from the Book of Common Prayer for your use:
Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and glory, now and for ever. Amen. (Prayer for Peace, p. 815)
Almighty God our heavenly Father, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. (Prayer for Peace Among the Nations, p. 816)
O God, you have bound us together in a common life. Help us, in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth, to confront one another without hatred or bitterness, and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Peace in Times of Conflict, p. 824)
A Prayer for Social Justice: Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart [and especially the hearts of the people of this land], that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer, p. 823)
Let us take time and Be Still;
Be Still and Know that I am God.
Be Still and Know.
Be Still.
Be.
Peace be Still.
Take your time and take care of yourselves spiritually, physically, and mentally. We need to do this every day.
Let us light our candles and be at prayer. This night we pray especially for caregivers and our family members who receive care. We pray for peace in the world and an end to hate, fear, and terror. We pray for our family members who are homeless, hungry, and ill clad. We pray for our family members who have lost employment, relationships, and loved ones. We pray that we may continue to fight injustice and inequality. We pray for the courage to be loving to the unlovable. We pray for all who can't seem to move on from past hurts and anger and be healed and united. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Burundi and Central America. We pray for their safety and for good living conditions. We pray that we may no longer treat anyone as a stranger but a family member. Give us courage to be CALM (compassionate, accepting, loving, and merciful) We pray for those of us who continue to struggle with chronic illness and lack of good sleep. We pray these prayers this night in the name of Jesus, our brother, redeemer, and friend. Amen.
Here is this evening's meditation music. Think The Simple Gifts!
Appalachian Spring - Copeland
Gracious God we thank you for everything!
We thank you for our lives and all that is in them.
We thank you for showing us how to love others simply by just the gift of a warm heart and smile.
We thank you for the gift of your Son Jesus who taught us what was really important and to love everyone with tender and inclusive heart.
We thank you for calling us to be peacemakers and Children of God. May we make peace in this fragile and broken world.
We thank you for water and waters of life that are coursing through our veins. May we use water wisely.
We pray for all of us who are the least of these at some time or other.
We pray for all who are ill and especially our family members who are chronically ill. We pray for all who are ill in body, mind, and spirit.
We pray for all of us who are caregivers may we have the courage to say "No" and find respite. We pray that caregivers may learn to take care of themselves.
We pray for all who are ministers and those who may not know that they are.
We pray for sound governance and a return to the ability to govern without hardness of heart and division.
We pray for all who have died and those who are in mourning.
We pray especially for our animal family members and their owners. We pray especially those who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
We add our prayers and those for whom we have been asked to pray for__________________
We lift up these our prayers in the Name of Jesus who taught us to love, include, and invite all to the table, the table of love. Amen.
Good Night Dear Ones! I love you and give thanks to God for you this night and always.
With love and blessings always!
Sara
