Time to pray for each other ! We are family after all!
Good Evening Dear Family!
Happy Take Care Tuesday! I hope everyone remembers that every day that we live, move, and just be is holy. Since everything is holy we need to treat all things that are living with love, dignity, respect and tenderly. We must come together as the Family of God for that is what we truly are. Now more than ever we must be like those pilgrims not so long ago who walked together and cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It is time to build bridges and not put up walls of division. We must unite with each other through prayer and understanding. We must open our ears and hearts to one another and find common ground. To do this we must start with prayer as our base. God is always with us no matter what.
Tonight we light a single candle as a symbol of unity as we pray together as one. We light this candle and carry it on our way forward with each other as Jesus as our leader. We carry it to the least of these who are in need of food, clothing, and shelter. We carry this light to the dark places where hatred, fear, bigotry are lurking. We shine the light of love to our family members who are in bad places where fear and anger meet. We pray and carry this light of peace as peacemakers to war torn places and places where there is great division and heartache. We pray and carry this light to our brothers and sisters who are celebrating Ramadan that they know that we support them during this time of fasting and prayer. We carry this light and pray for our leaders who need to come together for the good of all and that there may be liberty, justice, and universal equality and human rights for all. We carry this light and pray for all children who will now know that regardless who you are you can be anything God calls you to be. We pray and carry this light in loving memory of all who have come before us to light the torch of liberty and open the doors, and shatter glass ceilings in all places. We carry this light and pray this night for each other and especially those of us who are ill and struggling with any and all illnesses and pain. We pray and carry this light and say "The Light of Christ in Me, recognizes the Light of Christ in you!" We pray this day in the name of God the Creator, Jesus our Redeemer and friend, and the Holy Spirit the Comforter. Amen.
I was reminded when watching old sermons by the Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church that "If it's not about love, it's not about God" and that 'We are Family" These things reminded me of these prayers:
Tonight we set our hearts on Love! That is all !
Gracious God inflame our hearts with love for all of our family members and even our enemies.
Gracious God inspire us to use love as the healing balm that helps and doesn't hurt.
Gracious God help us to start loving ourselves and stop taking ourselves and our family members for granted.
Gracious God give is strength to love even in the face of adversity.
Gracious God we pray that love will be the force to drive away all hate from all those who choose to bully, abuse, and hate.
Gracious God send loving warmth and comfort to those who are grieving and pre- grieving.
Gracious God we pray that love and peace may prevail upon earth.
Gracious God be our light out of darkness so that we may shine with your brightness.
Gracious God set our hearts on Love! That is all!
In the name of God who is Love, Jesus who is our redeemer, and The Holy Spirit the Holy Comforter. Amen.
Gracious God set our hearts on Fire with Love! That is all!
