An appreciation of all people and faith communities!
Good Evening Dear Ones!
Do not be afraid God is with us, all of us! Today I had the honor to be present at the Forum on Faith, and learn more about Islam, Hinduism, Bahai, Buddhism, and Christianity. In this time where division is the order of the day it was nice to be present with our large family and feel the love and unity that was present and is present. We were blessed today not having to feel edginess and or hatred. Peace was present. When we were planning this event we had a few fears that we might need to have the police present and guess what we didn't have them there and all was well. God was present with our family in heart, mind, and spirit as God is all the time. We have a great big large world and we are all connected by God and through God. So dear ones let us strive to be at peace and family members who care deeply one to another and pray each and every day that we may be united. Let us speak gently to each other. Let us offer deeds of random acts of kindness. Let us practice the CALM Principle and be Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful.
Let us now pray and make vigil and light a unity candle in peace and in silence.
God we come to you this night in peaceful unity with love and peace in our hearts. We pray that we may become a listening and welcoming community. We pray that all faith communities may have houses of worship where they may spend time in prayer and meditation and fellowship. We pray that we may not fear each other and that we may lay down and cleanse our world from all distrust and suspicion. We pray this night for all countries where there is division and wars are being fought. We pray for the peace in Aleppo, Mosul, Kirkuk, and all other places where people are being killed and displaced We pray for the refugees who are in need of homes and asylum. We pray for safety for our faith families that they may find solace and places in which to worship without fear. We pray and make vigil in the silence and offer ourselves loving service one to another. We lift up these our candles and hold them out to each other and say "The Light of Christ or ( deity) in me recognizes the light of Christ (deity) in you. Amen.
A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen
God of many names heal this fragile and broken world that you created.
Forgive all of our deeds that led us to destroy and harm your world O God.
God of many names, take away all bitterness and division that have led us away from you.
Lead us to become the loving and united family you created us to be.
God of many names, we pray for the healing of all our family members who are ill remembering especially___________
Heal our bodies, minds, and spirits also.
God of many names, we pray for all who are dying and who have died. May they have a peaceful transition into the Thin Places.
Help us O God to see death as only the shedding of our mortal bodies into souls of everlasting life.
God of many names, be with all of our faith leaders and communities as they prepare for worship and devotion to you.
May we also prepare our souls and hearts to worship you wherever we may be this Sabbath weekend.
God of many names, we pray for the least of these who are our family members and, who are refugees, victims of human trafficking, abuse, terror, bullying, ---phobias, religious persecution, violence of any kind, and all those who are separated from their family members, nations and cultures by war or economic hardship.
May we see you in them at all times and in all places
God of many names, may we sew seeds of hope, joy, love, and peace and may we be truly united as your family of love.
Let us love one another and be untied as one!
God of many names, we offer our additional prayers, thanksgivings, celebrations, and remembrances to you on behalf ourselves and others especially________________________
God of many names, we offer these our prayers in the name of your Son Jesus, our redeemer, healer, reconciler, brother, and friend. Amen.
