Epiphanies both small and great! A ha moments that connect us to the holy #GodsInDwellingPresence
Good Evening Dear Family of Love and Pilgrim's on our Journey!
Last night before I went to bed I found out that Walk With Me On Our Journey had reached 225,006 pageviews in history. We have been around since July of 2013 and this is a major milestone for the blog and us as a family. When God called me to write this blog and change it from the Melodious Meanderings of a Pedestrian Photography to Walk With Me Our Journey, I never knew where this journey was going to take me let alone us. Today we find ourselves meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of many. I feel #GodsIndwellingPresence as I write and leading us on together connected as a family and being the least of these at the same time. We all are here for one another no matter what. Say it is #YouMatterMonday and that means that we must know that every time we look in the mirror and each other and even the homeless person with a shopping cart who sleeps under a tree in the park. Today's a ha moment is about #GodsIndwellingPresence! Yes, God is with in every cell, fiber, and star stuff that makes up all beings and that includes you and includes me and yes even your furry family members, all beings and living things. Tonight is a time when we get to spend time going deeper into our heart homes and seek God there and feel #GodsIndwellingPresence!
Let us sit and just be and be CALM( Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful)
Let's do a refresher course on finding soulace* and solace for our bodies, mind, spirits, and souls. We all need to do this every day as part of celebrating our lives every day. Let us go deeper and and find peace , solace, and soulace*. Here is our meditation and listening music
David Lanz- Variations on a theme From Pachelbel's Canon in D Major
*Soulace is my word for going deeper and seeking God at our soul level in a time of peace, quiet, and deep connecting.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know
Be still
Be
Inhale God's love
Exhale Love of God, Neighbor, and ourselves.
Repeat three times.
Let us light our candles and be at prayer as we pray for our all of our family members in every corner of the world this night. Let us remember that every person on the planet is our brother and sister and even those we don't understand, those who hate us, and those we do not like. Remember we are to love all and be CALM (Compassionate, accepting, loving, and merciful) family members. God isn't letting us off the hook.
Light and peace, in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Thanks be to God.
It is not ourselves that we proclaim; we proclaim Christ
Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants, for Jesus’ sake.
For the same God who said, “Out of darkness let light shine,”
has caused his light to shine within us, to give the light of
revelation––the revelation of the glory of God in the face of
Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:5-6
O Gracious Light Phos hilaron
O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
God may we seek you and find you as we pray
God may we seek you and find you in times of rest and renewal.
God may we seek you and find you in times when we feel down and discouraged. May we feel your loving and abiding presence.
God may we seek you and find you in the eyes of all of our family members . God let us sew seeds of love, hope, joy, and peace.
God may we seek you and find you in our heart homes and be warmed by your love. May we shine the light of your love with the love that comes from our heart homes.
God may we seek you and find you in all your living creatures and in your Cathedral of Love and Life.
God may we seek you and find you in your still small voice of calm.
God may we seek you and find you in the faces of all of our most vulnerable and fragile family members who are crying out for help and seeking universal human rights, justice, equality, and acceptance.
God may we seek you and find you in all those who practice medicine and the arts of healing. We pray for those who are ill and in need of healing of their bodies, minds, and spirits.
God may we seek you and find you in the light of all children's eyes and that they may be protected and loved.
God may we seek you and find you in times of peace and quiet.
God may we seek you and find you in places of memories and family history.
God may we seek you and find you in all of our loved ones who now reside in the Thin Places as we remember them and hold them in our heart homes.
God may we seek you and find your presence in our heart homes as we grieve any kind of loss.
God may we seek you and find you as we pray for ourselves and our family members who have requested prayers on our behalf remembering especially____________________
God may we seek you and find you in the daily celebration of our lives and in celebration of____________
God we pray these our prayers and may we seek you and find you answering them in the Name of your only Son Jesus the Christ who knocks at the doors of our heart homes. Amen.
Today we honor Julia Chester Emery. Her biography is here:
Julia Chester Emery
God of all creation, you call us in Christ to make disciples of all nations and to proclaim your mercy and love: Grant that we, after the example of your servant Julia Chester Emery, may have vision and courage in proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our light and our salvation, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
The Song of Mary Magnificat
Luke 1:46-55
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; *
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant
From this day all generations will call me blessed: *
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him *
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm, *
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, *
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel, *
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
The promise he made to our fathers, *
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as It was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Isaiah 61:1-3
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners;
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
to provide for those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a garland instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, to display his glory.
The Song of Simeon Nunc dimittis
Luke 2:29-32
Lord, you now have set your servant free *
to go in peace as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior, *
whom you have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations, *
and the glory of your people Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Psalm 67
Deus misereatur
1 May God be merciful to us and bless us, *
show us the light of his countenance and come to us.
2 Let your ways be known upon earth, *
your saving health among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise you, O God; *
let all the peoples praise you.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, *
for you judge the peoples with equity
and guide all the nations upon earth.
5 Let the peoples praise you, O God; *
let all the peoples praise you.
6 The earth has brought forth her increase; *
may God, our own God, give us his blessing.
7 May God give us his blessing, *
and may all the ends of the earth stand in awe of him.
8 The Song of Moses Cantemus Domino
Exodus 15:1-6, 11-13, 17-18
Especially suitable for use in Easter Season
I will sing to the Lord, for he is lofty and uplifted; *
the horse and its rider has he hurled into the sea.
The Lord is my strength and my refuge; *
the Lord has become my Savior.
This is my God and I will praise him, *
the God of my people and I will exalt him.
The Lord is a mighty warrior; *
Yahweh is his Name.
The chariots of Pharaoh and his army has he hurled into the sea; *
the finest of those who bear armor have been
drowned in the Red Sea.
The fathomless deep has overwhelmed them; *
they sank into the depths like a stone.
Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in might; *
your right hand, O Lord, has overthrown the enemy.
Who can be compared with you, O Lord, among the gods? *
who is like you, glorious in holiness,
awesome in renown, and worker of wonders?
You stretched forth your right hand; *
the earth swallowed them up.
With your constant love you led the people you redeemed; *
with your might you brought them in safety to
your holy dwelling.
You will bring them in and plant them *
on the mount of your possession,
The resting-place you have made for yourself, O Lord, *
the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hand has established.
The Lord shall reign *
for ever and for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Romans 12:6-13
We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.
14 A Song of Penitence Kyrie Pantokrator
Prayer of Manasseh, 1-2, 4, 6-7, 11-15
O Lord and Ruler of the hosts of heaven, *
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
and of all their righteous offspring:
You made the heavens and the earth, *
with all their vast array.
90 Morning Prayer II
All things quake with fear at your presence; *
they tremble because of your power.
But your merciful promise is beyond all measure; *
it surpasses all that our minds can fathom.
O Lord, you are full of compassion, *
long-suffering, and abounding in mercy.
You hold back your hand; *
you do not punish as we deserve.
In your great goodness, Lord,
you have promised forgiveness to sinners, *
that they may repent of their sin and be saved.
And now, O Lord, I bend the knee of my heart, *
and make my appeal, sure of your gracious goodness.
I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, *
and I know my wickedness only too well.
Therefore I make this prayer to you: *
Forgive me, Lord, forgive me.
Do not let me perish in my sin, *
nor condemn me to the depths of the earth.
For you, O Lord, are the God of those who repent, *
and in me you will show forth your goodness.
Unworthy as I am, you will save me,
in accordance with your great mercy
and I will praise you without ceasing all the days of my life.
For all the powers of heaven sing your praises, *
and yours is the glory to ages of ages. Amen.
Mark 10:42-45
So Jesus called the disciples and said to them, "You know that among the Gentiles those whom they recognize as their rulers lord it over them, and their great ones are tyrants over them. But it is not so among you; but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many."
