Good Evening Beloved Community!
Happy Sabbath Day and first complete day of Autumn. I could really tell it was Autumn today because it was foggy this morning when I walked to church. Today's activities at the faith factory were wonderful. I had a Mexican food lunch/linner this afternoon that was delicious. I came home took a nap and then listened to a Call from MoveOn.org ! Why am I telling you this? I wanted you to know something about my life. Weekends are supposed to have some element of self and spiritual care. As the season has changed we need to begin our seasonal change and that means a conscientious effort in adding self and spiritual care to our daily mix. If we aren't taking time to stop the glorification of busy before the revved up hype of the holiday season we are going to be in trouble. Now more than ever we need to follow these simple rules:
Treat every day as a holy day.
Treat every place you plant your feet as holy ground.
Treat everyone as if you are meeting Jesus for the very first time.
Be the change in the world that God wants us to be.
Respect the dignity of every human being.
Care for the planet as if it had just been created. Have a reverence for all of God's creation and Cathedral of Life.
Reduce our carbon footprints by walking and seeking to come to know our community better.
Become social justice advocates.
Renew our commitments to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Make our life a daily pilgrimage, follow Jesus, and Love all of our neighbors.
Take time to renew and meditate on our Baptismal Covenant. As we are going to do right now as we begin our time of prayer and meditation.

God of All Kindness, we light our candles for all of our family members around the world who do not have access to food, clothing,shelter, clean water, and medical care. We pray for all of our family members who do not have a home to return to either by natural disaster or war and terrorist acts. We pray for all the many aid agencies that are struggling to meet the needs of our family members where resources are scarce. We pray that we may rise up and help them to seek and find solutions to the scarcity of programs and unmet needs. We pray for peace in this fragile and broken world and an end to terror, hatred, bullying and abuse. We pray for each other tonight and as God to heal, help, and console us as we struggle with aspects of daily living. We pray for justice and universal human rights for all. We pray that we may follow Jesus by being CALM(Compassionate, accepting, Loving, and Merciful). May we love one another and shine the light of Christ one to another "The Light of Christ in me Recognizes the Light of Christ in you!" May we all have a restful and blessed rest this night and always.

Sunday – The Ita Compline (Northumbria Community)
Ita, who died in about 570, was abbess of a women’s community in Killeedy, County Limerick in Ireland. She ran a school for boys where she taught:
Faith in God with purity of heart; simplicity of life with religion; generosity with love.
Among those schooled by Ita was Brendan, who honoured her as his foster-mother and adviser. The Compline that follows is named after her because of its emphasis on examination of the heart, and the prayers of care and protection for each soul who crosses our path.
