Hello one and all!
I hope everyone has had a good day so far and if you live in severely weather affected parts of the country you are staying safe and warm. Today I got my holter monitor to find out more about the T.I.A I had in October. My new phone has arrived but I'm having trouble activating it. Will do it tomorrow. My brother and sister-in-law have given me used but in good shape microwave oven and dropped it by today. I had boneless buffalo chicken wings for dinner. Yummy! I have missed having a microwave since June of last year. Any way what does this have to do with our blog? Not sure but we will most definitely find out as we go along. This is what we call putting our whole faith in God and especially when we find ourselves having mixed up days in our las vidas locas (crazy lives). So let us breathe and take in all the good things God brings to us so abundantly and enjoy our time together in prayer and meditation.

Future Glory
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. I NEED YOU - Howard Thurman
I need Your sense of time. Always I have an underlying anxiety about things. Sometimes I am in a hurry to achieve my ends and am completely without patience. It is hard for me to realize that some growth is slow, that not all processes are swift. I cannot discriminate between what takes time to develop and what can be rushed because my sense of time is dulled. O to understand the meaning of perspective that I may do all things with a profound sense of leisure of time.
I need Your sense of order. The confusion of the details of living is sometimes overwhelming. The little things keep getting in my way, providing ready-made excuses for failure to do and be what I know I ought to do and be. Much time is spent on things that are not very important while significant things are put in an insignificant place in my scheme of order. I must unscramble my affairs so that my life will become order. O God, I need Your sense of order.
I need Your sense of the future. Teach me to know that life is ever on the side of the future. Keep alive in me the future look, the high hope. Let me not be frozen either by the past or the present. Grant me, O Patient One, Your sense of the future without which all life would sicken and die.

Cuthbert, a shepherd lad looking after his flock on the Lammermuir hills, had an angelic vision coinciding with the death of Aidan which convinced him that he was meant to follow Christ as surely as the beloved founder of Lindisfarne Abbey. He became a monk at Melrose Abbey, under the guidance of Boisil. Cuthbert later succeeded him as Prior. Later in his life Cuthbert became a dearly-loved bishop at Lindisfarne, from where, until his death in 687, he loved to retreat in solitude to pray and fast on the Farne Islands.

Today’s Meditation
Our lives are long enough to learn what we need to learn, but not long enough to change anything. That is our flaw. Each age must learn everything afresh. Such waste!
Such waste – making all the mistakes once and again, each generation making the same mistakes, fumbling in ignorance and darkness.
This oak was already old when I was born.
Now I am old and soon to die, and this tree grows strong still.
We are small creatures.
