Thankful for an unexpected Sabbath day! Using our 5 senses to be grateful and in giving thanks!
Dear Family of Love,
The headache has finally lifted and I'm truly thankful to God for this. I'm also very thankful for an unexpected Sabbath day. We all need these on occasion. This is part of not ignoring our body's signals. I needed extra rest and had to know that what ever was going to be there today would be there tomorrow. So how do we rest when we keep wanting to move around and be busy? We just rest and let our bodies take the cues from God and let our bodies do the rest and resting. This can be a real test when we all want to be Energizer Bunnies and enter into the glorification of busy. That leads us to our gratitude meditation for today: This is a new one but I think you'll get the hang of it :
A gratitude meditation at even:
We look to the four directions North, South, East, and West:
North and to the skies above and give thanks for Stars and Polar Ice Caps.
South and towards the deserts and earth beneath our feet and give thanks for the Amazon Rain Forests and for lands of diversity and beauty.
East and to the direction of Sunrise and the lands where the Abrahamic Faiths had their roots, and where the Wonders of the World captivated civilization. We give thanks for the Sun's Warmth and the Peoples who migrated from the east to bring forth our nation of diversity.
West and towards the ocean and where we receive the gift of night time and moonrise. We give thanks for the peoples who crossed the Bering Strait to bring forth the indigenous peoples to the lands before they became the Americas.
We we feel and touch with our hands and give thanks that we may embrace our family members, to be able to dress ourselves, to comfort , to play musical instruments, to soothe a brow that is in mourning.
We smell with our noses and give thanks for the scent of flowers, rain, foods, clean air, perfume, crisp sheets, and when we are in danger the smell of fire.
We hear and give thanks for the voices of our loved ones, music that both calms and enlivens us. To be able to listen and not just to hear, to hear the sound of babies, the whispers of our loved ones telling us "I love you!", the cheers at the game, and the cries for help when we are called to be rescuers.
We taste and give thanks for being able to enjoy foods, drinks, and sweet things and also be able to use our tongues for speech, swallowing, tasting, singing, and breathing.
Now using our 5 senses make up y/our own gratitude meditation following our breathing exercises
Inhale the Holy Spirit.
Exhale Love.
Inhale the Holy Spirit
Exhale Love
Inhale the Holy Spirit
Exhale Love
Now repeat the following 3 times;
Be Still and Know That I am God.
Be Still and Know
Be Still
Be

Prayers from tomorrow's Anniversary Blog and the link will follow:
Gracious and Loving God we pray this night for all of us who have lost loved ones and those who are preparing for their loved one's journey into the Thin Places. Give us loving hearts to comfort those who mourn and those who sit vigil.
May we this night remember all of our family members who feel unloved and isolated. Let them know the richness of God's love and mercy and that they are never alone.
We pray for all who are refugees and those who have been affected by war, violence, and terror.
We pray that peace will prevail upon Earth.
Gentle Spirit, we pray for all the vulnerable and the least of these whom you call us to love and care for.
Take our bodies, minds, and spirits and use them in loving service to all.
Gentle Spirit, may we use our mindfulness skills that we may ever be thoughtful and thankful each minute that we live, move, and just be.
Give us voices to speak for the voiceless, speak truth to power, and to sing your praises loudly up into the celestial spheres.
Gentle Spirit, we pray for all caregivers that they may receive respite and learn to take care of themselves and if necessary do GPS (Gentle Priority Shifting)
We pray for all those who are discerning calls to ministry and those who are seeking new life paths and those who are waiting to hear from employers if they have been hired.
Gentle Spirit, we pray for seasonable weather and rain. We pray that cool weather will make the wildfires cease and be contained.
We pray for ourselves and on behave of others remembering especially__________________
Gentle Spirit, may we remember that every moment, day, and every breath we take is holy. May we live our lives accordingly.
We lift these our prayers in the name of Jesus the Christ who heals, saves, and makes us whole in body, mind, and spirit, Amen.
