Good Evening Beloved Community!
Facebook always asks "What's on your mind,Sara?" Well this is what's on my mind fear of taking risks and stepping out of one's comfort zone. These are what is keeping us stuck in becoming the change makers God is calling us to be. Today, I thought I was going to stay at home an laze around and have one of my Blanket Fort Jammie Days! That was until I turned on the KSBY Facebook Live - 6 things you need to know before heading out the door and discovered that I needed to attend a community meeting about P.S.P.S.(Public Safety Power Shutoffs) at the County Building at 5:30 p.m. We have choices but in some instances where our neighbors and ourselves are concerned we all need to be educated about what is happening or may happen in our community. We cannot trust the mail, the news, or being fortunate enough to sign up for alerts. I spoke at public comment and was interviewed by KSBY. Yes I was on TV again. I'm glad that God called me to go to this meeting. So what does that mean for you and for me as human beings? It means that we must keep our ears attentive to what is happening in our local communities and having our ears to the ground. We all must me continuously being intersectional and working to build up our social justice and prophetic networks. Courage helps build up hope, bridges, and foster the change we need to see and be in this fragile and broken world. That is what is on my mind today! Tonight it is Memorial Monday where we speak the names of those who have died by violence and hold space for one another as we grieve their loss.

Leader: We stand before this Wall of Injustice in solidarity with the 1731 people murdered for their gender since 2008, along with the many other deaths that remain unknown. We stand especially for transgender women of color, who are frequently the first targets of anti-trans violence. Will you work and pray for the end of violence against trans bodies, remembering those we have lost and listening to those who are crying out for justice?
People: We will with God’s help.
Leader: We stand before this Wall of Injustice in solidarity with the rising epidemic of transgender youth who have committed suicide. Taught to expect a lifetime of brutal discrimination, forced to endure being called by their wrong name & often betrayed by those closest to them, these young people came of age in a world that offered them no hope, no future. Will you work & pray for the creation of opportunities for trans youth and young adults, spaces that celebrate the fullness of their identities and honor their experiences?
People: We will with God’s help.
Leader: We stand before this Wall of Injustice in solidarity with all those who have encountered discrimination because of their gender identity or expression. We remember all who currently live in a network of oppressions designed to erase their experience as we denounce the systems that create barriers to the full participation of people of all genders. Will you work and pray for the end of discrimination and full participation for people of all genders in every area of life?

God of the sabbath, God of goodness and rest, God who made the universe, stepped into it, and dwells in it still, we give you thanks for your example and your perpetual call for justice and restoration. Leader: We stand before this Wall of Injustice remembering immigrants, refugees and sojourners in our Bible story. From Eden, all have traveled to the lands of the Earth. The People of Israel crossed the Red Sea in search of freedom, answering the call of God. God of Noah, Abraham, Sarah and Hagar, open our hearts to refugees and sojourners around us. Will you remember our shared history as a refugee people?
People: We will, with God’s help.
Leader: We stand at the Wall of Injustices remembering Joseph, sold into slavery, First Nations Peoples forced from their lands, Africans captured, separated and sold for profit, the dispossession of Palestinians in the ongoing Nakba. We recognize that there are more displaced people on our planet today than at any time since World War II. Will you pray that the example of Jesus’ open table fellowship will inspire us to offer hospitality to strangers in our midst?

Aidan came to Lindisfarne from Iona in the year 635 at the request of King Oswald. He was a man of deep prayer who meditated on the words of Scripture, equipping himself in quiet for an active and highly effective apostolate. He remained at Lindisfarne for 16 years. In 651, Aidan was taken ill at Bamburgh and died. Cuthbert, who was a that moment looking after his flock of sheep on the Lammermuir hills, saw a vision of angels taking Aidan’s soul to heaven.
