Good Evening Beloved Community!

Happy Self-Care Saturday! I hope everyone is happy and is getting through this retreat weekend  nicely. Today is the feast day of Mary the Mother of Our  Lord. Mary was someone that was the quintessential Jewish mother while at the same time someone who really understood what it meant to accept God's call. If we don't get Mary, we certainly won't get Jesus ! Jesus learned how to be a human being from Mary and Joseph. I would like to think that she was the one who set the tone for Jesus in showing us how to love, be merciful, and inclusive. Mary teaches us throughout the year that we must learn to let go and "Let it be!" Even in our darkest hours we find ourselves in the presence of Jesus, Mary, and God who are leading us out into a brand new world. I find myself hearing the Beatles' song "Let it be". Do you hear this song now? I do. Let us meditate upon these words as we begin our prayer time  and making vigil in remembrance of the Mary's in our lives, the single mothers who are working hard for their children, all who are struggling with personal paradigm shifts.  And so Beloved Community

God, we pray for all of our family members who are seeking to see a light in the window. A light of welcome and warmth. A light of love and protection. We light our lanterns so that we may carry the light that you have given us as a way of seeking out the lost and bringing them back home to a united and loving family. God we light our candles in memory, honor, and in loving support of all who are homeless, hungry, ill-clad, mentally ill, and all your children who are going through great difficulty. We pray this night for all refugees and all who come to this country by unsafe ways  may we welcome them as you have commanded us to do.
