Good Evening Dear Family of Love!
Happy Take Care Tuesday! Tonight we will be in prayer for our weary world who needs our love and attention. I could see this when I worked the window handing out the lunches. Our stories from the window will be added later. Please check back. Tonight we begin with our Be Stills and then with our classic prayers.
Be Still and Know That I am God.
Be Still and know that I am.
Be Still and know.
Be Still.
Be.
Take relaxing and cleansing breaths.
Now light a candle and make vigil and silently pray for God's weary world and the beings that live in it.
The Beatitudes Matthew 5:3–12
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. (5:3)
Blessed are those who mourn: for they will be comforted. (5:4)
Blessed are the meek: for they will inherit the earth. (5:5)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they will be filled. (5:6)
Blessed are the merciful: for they will be shown mercy. (5:7)
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they will see God. (5:8)
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they will be called children of God. (5:9)
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (5:10
A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

For our Enemies (From the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER)
O God, the Father of all, whose Son commanded us to love our enemies: Lead them and us from prejudice to truth; deliver them and us from hatred, cruelty, and revenge; and in your good time enable us all to stand reconciled before you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for when we've been brought low!
God we pray that in this time of fear we may be brought low so that we may never take any of the abundance we have for granted.
God we pray that in this time of violence and oppression we may be brought low to help you find solutions to help our family members in their time of need and that love may be the key to turn off the violence switch.
God we pray that in this time of cold weather we may be brought low to help clothe, feed, and give shelter to our family members who need it.
God we pray that in this time of family gatherings we may be brought low to be able to love and find ways to give our family members who are lost, lonely, alone, or estranged from their families a new family during these holidays.
God we pray that in this time of division we may be brought low to be able to become peacemakers and your Children.
God we pray that in this time where we find ourselves haughty and overfull of one up man ship. we may be brought low to be given a holy reality check.
God we pray that in this time of stress and anxiety for all caregivers we may be brought low to be given the necessary tools to extend our hands, feet, and arms to give respite to those suffering caregiver fatigue.
God we pray that in this time we may be brought low so that you might lift us up and give us courage to be the Family of Love you are calling us to be.
God we pray that in this time we may be brought low when we see refugees, victims of violence, and any other media that seems to make our hearts numb. Help our hearts to be engaged and infused with Love Energy and our Heart Homes widened and tenderized.
God we pray that in this time of silence we may listen for your voice in the stillness and that as we have been brought low we may see with clarity the lighted pathway of peace, mercy, justice, and love and that we may be made CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful).
God we lift up these our prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Stories from the Window; Part II
Today when I was down at the Faith Factory this afternoon it was one of those days when conversation wasn't in the cards just a few words and acknowledging each person who came to the window with a loving smile and a heart home that was full of wanting to do more. Muggy days for our homeless and hungry are days where an extra bottle of water is all that they may need to get them through the day when they don't have a hat or shelter. Joseph, one of our regulars was looking for socks. Anyone wishing to donate men's socks please do so. Joseph had spent two days in the ER for health problems. Many of the stories were about mobility issues and the need to stay put. Seeing tired eyes from our regulars really makes it gut wrenching. One of our Veterans who comes regularly Saluted me as he came from the levee where he and his wife live. Tent cities are part of our life here in town. When I talked to Terri Zuniga's campaign manager a week ago, he reinforced the need for a Prado day center type facility and a shelter where there is a no questions asked policy. We need to pray and advocate for these shelters, and turn the old Marian West into a mental health facility, I would like Dignity Health to have a motel voucher program with the Quality Inn in the neighborhood for our homeless people who have just gotten out of the hospital. Handy if they need to go back for medical care. Better yet a shelter that has medical care built in. Those are my stories form the window for this week. Love to all!
