Prayers for those who upset our sanctuaries!

Good Evening Dear Ones!

I hope everyone has had a good day self-care wise. Last evening I participated in a Black Lives Matter protest in San Luis Obispo and believe it or not it was almost like the vigil and march I attended for the Orlando 49. Today I attended a Cancer Survivorship conference at Mission Hope Cancer Center and I learned many things that I will tell you tomorrow. When I left the conference I went over to Culligan to get 2, 2 gallon jugs of water filled up to take down to the church which I did. When I approached the church I discovered that the church building was tagged with a red pentacle on the outside of the baptistry wall. When I parked I immediately got out of my car took a picture and sent a text to my priest and the Senior Warden. I then got the water and waited  for my priest to arrive and call the police to have them make a report. All that has been done. Today that made us feel that our sanctuaries both physical and spiritual had been rattled. This seems to be happening of late in all areas of our lives. That is why we will take time for a brief time of prayer and mindfulness time. My arms are having a bit of pain so we won't be going voluminous tonight!

God we pray for all those who are driven to commit vandalism. We pray that they may recognize what they have done is wrong.

God we pray for all of those who have been led to take their own lives today especially our family member at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall today!

God we pray for all who have lost their lives while protesting. We pray that a sense of peace may prevail and that protesting will return to a presence of calm and peaceful non-violence.

God we pray for our family members whose physical sanctuaries have been rattled and need healing. We pray that we all may learn to just breathe and that our spiritual selves may be healed and made holy and whole again.

God we pray for the many churches where there has been vandalism that they may find purpose once again and a restoration of holiness and peace.

God help us to forgive those who have upset our sanctuaries and let healing and reconciliation begin again.

God we pray that our bodies may be healed from all stress and illness. Help us become relaxed, renewed, restored, and refreshed.

God we pray that we may be given the gift of a holy rest( Sleep) that we may awaken to do your will tomorrow.

God we pray for our family members ____________________________

God we pray the words of St. Francis as we turn our focus to spending time in mindfulness.

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

Let us continue and spend time in our mindfulness exercises and just be.  Let us do the Peace be Stills tonight.

Peace be still.
Peace be.
Peace.

Inhale
Exhale
Pause
Repeat.

God we lift up our tired spirits and come to you this night with our hearts open and ears ready to hear what you are saying to us. Tonight we make vigil and pray in the light and love of  God. We light our candles and reflect upon this day.
