Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Life's Journey together!
Wow! What a beautiful night to prayer walk and see God's Holy Artwork! The skies were magnificent and this evening at the time of the evening breeze we didn't have the famous marine layer and fog roll in. Today was a wonderful day without tears, only joy, laughter, and love. Lots of shopping to do and good news from that my insurance is covering my chemo drugs almost fully.So having chemo isn't as daunting as it used to be.
I also received a call from the American Cancer Society telling me what the schedule for the survivor events will be on Saturday. I will be doing quiet a few of them in the morning. I not only will walk for myself but any and all of you who have Cancer survivors in the Survivor Lap. We all are survivors of some kind and each day we live we survive to live one more day. To be a survivor we all have our own unique bouncebackability! What ever form that takes it is yours to own and yours alone! So today is Being Thankful and Thoughtful Thursday! I am grateful for you and all the gifts of presence you bring to everyone's life including yours and mine. Today we are going to take time to have prayers of thanksgiving and add our own prayers too. Let us take time and enjoy a time of silence and reflection. You may us a timer, mindfulness bell, or you own inner clock. Please set your timer for 10 minutes or what ever is comfortable for you!
As you finish begin to say this prayer:
Gracious God we are thankful for you making us in your image and likeness.
We give thanks for your beautiful Cathedral of Life and all of creation on this planet and in the universe.
We give thanks for our family nearby and far away. We give thanks for their love, support, compassion and acceptance.
We give thanks for food, clothing, shelter and all the abundant blessings you bestow up on us each and every day.
We give thanks for friends who make us laugh and give us a soft place to fall.
We give thanks for our partners, spouses, lovers, and significant others that bring out the best in us and lovingly support us in rocky times. We pray that if we are in a time of transition in relationships that we may take time and trust in you and not be afraid to give our hearts to a new love.
We give thanks for memories that we cherish and even the ones that make us learn many of life's lessons.
We give thanks for all of our immigrants who add beautiful diversity to our country.
We give thanks for all those who practice the arts of healing especially those who are in the cancer and autoimmune specialties.
We give thanks for daily celebrations of living, loving, and laughing.
We give thanks for unexpected blessings and joy.
We give thanks for love, compassion, passion, and all things that quicken our steps, enliven our spirits, and expand and tenderize our hearts so that we may feel the Water of Life Coursing through our veins.
We add our prayers for ourselves and on behalf of others especially_______________________
We pray and remember all who are dying and those who have entered eternal joy and light this day remembering especially_______________
We celebrate life and all abundance and we celebrate especially________________
We lift up these our thanksgivings and prayers to you Jesus in your name. Amen.
