You know it's Monday after Chemo when...........?

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Life's Journey Together!

You know it's Monday after chemo when:
 A. You are still in your jammies at 6:00 p.m.
B: No Make up and not even a bit of lipstick
C: Fall asleep at the drop of a hat and you haven't had a hat on all day
D: All of the above
E: None of the above
F: A combination of the top 3?
In my case it is D: All of the above!

Yes, dear family I hit the wall today! Not a pretty sight when you are wanting to do so much. Another day with going with the flow. Chemo is providing me and  us with extra days of Sabbath rest and renewal. We will be probably be doing brief prayer walking blitzes. Quick times of outside time interspersed with prayer.
This might even work for you when you are seeking times to pray. I have put together a brief prayer walking framework called the Quick Prayer Walk.

The Quick Prayer Walk

To begin: Decide how long we are going to prayer walk and set the timer or playlist for the length.
Take time to get ready.
We Invite God along for our walk and ask God to Quicken our Steps, Enliven our Spirits, and that we may feel the Water of Life Coursing through our veins and that our hearts may be expanded and tenderized.
Take a few deep and wonderful breaths of fresh air. Inhale and exhale.
Now we begin our walk slowly and then build up our walking pace and begin to pray for the many concerns and prayer requests that we have been given.
Take time for silence and peace. Allow yourselves days where there isn't any music.
Conclude your prayer walk with a closing prayer.

If you/ we can't get out to pray, try this at home with a timer or album of music of your choosing!

**********

Lord God we ask your prayers this night for all of our family members who are dealing with complex situations and ask that you will be with them to provide them with comfort and insight.

We pray for all of our family members who are struggling with addiction and staying in recovery.

We pray for peace in this world and especially in all the war torn areas of your planet.

We pray for safety for those who live in the places where there is flooding and and natural disasters.

We pray this night for good communication between doctors and patients.

For all refugees, prisoners, and those held captive. For compassionate immigration and prison reform.

For all pilgrims around the world that they may feel the presence of God as they walk and pray in sacred places.

For the least of these that they may be loved, protected, and may find shelter to lay their heads. We pray for a variety of shelters and services that will meet their needs and we recognize that one size does not fit all.

We pray for all artists, musicians, dancers, actors, and writers who make the world a more beautiful place in which to live, move, and be.

We pray for human rights for all and the knowledge that all means all and not some.

We pray for an end to animal cruelty.

We pray for all those who mourn and we pray for those who are dying and have entered the Thin Places today.

We pray for all of our family members who are seeking employment and have had interviews.

We pray for all those who are discerning vocations and calls to ordained ministry and we remember the newly ordained.

We pray for all those who are ill and especially those who live alone while battling illness.

We pray for all caregivers.

We pray especially for____________________

We ask lift up these our prayers in Jesus most Holy Name. Amen.
