Let's take this baby back on the road!
That's all for the new news! Let us light our candles and be at prayer and pray some more.
God of love we pray and give thanks for the day past and the rest you have given us. Let us light our candles this evening in solidarity with our brothers and sisters who practice Islam and give them extra prayers during Ramadan. We pray that they stay in good health while they fast during the day especially in warm climates. We pray this night for each other that we may be loving and supporting one to another regardless of the faith we practice and take time to learn and celebrate diversity. We pray for an end to all kinds of sectarian violence and terror throughout the world. We pray that we may lay down the weapons of hate and sew seeds of love, peace, hope, and joy. We pray that this week as we light our candles we may remember to become beacons of Compassion, Acceptance, Love, and Mercy. Let us continue to pray for all of these our brothers and sisters who are listed here for they are and have been victims of hatred, bullying, abuse,racism, and bigotry.

Tonight's extra prayers from THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER
Psalm 121 Levavi oculos
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills; *
from whence cometh my help?
My help cometh even from the Lord, *
who hath made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved, *
and he that keepeth thee will not sleep.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel *
shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord himself is thy keeper; *
the Lord is thy defence upon thy right hand;
So that the sun shall not burn thee by day, *
neither the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; *
yea, it is even he that shall keep thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in, *
from this time forth for evermore.
For our Enemies
O God, the Father of all, whose Son commanded us to love
our enemies: Lead them and us from prejudice to truth;
deliver them and us from hatred, cruelty, and revenge; and in
your good time enable us all to stand reconciled before you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
For Social Justice
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so
move every human heart [and especially the hearts of the
people of this land], that barriers which divide us may
crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our
divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.
