The challenges that are set before us! The care of body, mind, and spirit.

Happy Take Care Tuesday Dear Family of Love!

I hope everyone is doing just that ! We all need to be gently guided into a time of calm while we work on our period of activism The days ahead won't be easy and certainly wont be a time where we all feel rested and nerves set at peace. When I talk about going off the grid I mean it ! We are becoming addicted to social media and the news seeing what is coming next Not that it isn't fun to see and watch the political reality TV show before us . It really isn't healthy. Remember when I talk about self-care? I mean it ! We need to do this everyday with intentionality. Here is my self-care list.

If you are a healthy person with a normal routine do it and also take time away from all digital devices.

If you are like me who is dealing with a chronic illness we need to rest as much as possible and remember to get up and move around the cabin.

Keep a journal.

Work on your breathing, mindfulness, and "Be Stills"

Take walks!

Prayer and meditation are key and time away from the TV and social media is also going to be of help too.

Find a support group and also find a place of sanctuary.

Sanctuaries can be parks, beaches, churches, labyrinths, hikes, finding an old California Mission where you can walk and pray the Stations of the Cross. Sanctuaries must be a place of safety.

I also recommend the theater, art galleries, and concerts just to name a few.

If you like animals go to the zoo or if you are in a rustic mood go to some of these harvest barns where they sell fruits and vegetables and all sorts of things. We have one in Avila called the Avila Valley Barn and it is awesome.

How many of you like to take drives out of town just to see the scenery? Do that !

Take pictures of life with your cell phone or camera!

Practice being well and good health and eating habits.

Limit your alcohol consumption and keep hydrated.

Don't forget we are here for each other no matter what.

After you have taken time to care for yourself please make it a point to check on your family members and see what you can do to care for your friends and allies in the LGBTQIA, Muslim, Latin American communities to see if there is something you can do to help. We all must work together and also meet together and share what we know, learn from each other, and be proactive in affecting change for the good of all.

Your action item for today and the remainder of the week  is to begin to be good Tweeters on Twitter and send messages to your Senators and give them a Thumbs up or down on their latest work to curb violence and promote positive change in gun safety:
Use these hashtags! #DisarmHate, #NotOneMore, #EndGunViolence, #OrlandowillRemember, #WeAreNotGoingAway, #ImLoudAndProud, #49LivesTooMany #ShameOnYou #RememberYourOathOfOffice #VotingBlueBecauseOfYou

Here is the list for the Twitter Handles for the United States Senate.

Now on to holier and peaceful things.

Gracious God we Light our Candles and Pray in love and support for one another. We pray that we may keep an eye out for our LGBTQ, Muslim, Latino, and all our fragile brothers and sisters. We pray that we may offer a loving hand, a kind word, and selfless help to all who are in need this night. We pray for peace in our inner beings that are being rattled on a daily basis. We pray that we may learn to care for each other with CALM (Compassion, Acceptance, Love, and Mercy) Give us the skills and the right words to say when we don't know what to say. Take from us we pray bitterness and hate. Help us to find solace and peace within our bodies minds, and spirits once again We pray for an end to all forms of violence. Let us be peace makers to all people and especially to those with whom we disagree Give us courage to find common and holy ground May we remember that where ever we set our feet and place our hands we know that it is a place of holiness. This night we light our candles in solidarity with those who are holding vigil in protest God we reach out our arms and prayers to you this night! The light of God in me, Recognizes the Light of God in You.
Help us to pray once again to remember the 49 innocent victims in Orlando by name.

We pray for the victims by Name and pause for a moment. If you have a bell or singing bowl ring it after each name.

God may light perpetual shine upon them and give them peace as we lift these our prayers to you in your most holy name. Amen

God as we come to you in the quiet of our hearts, help us to be transfigured more and more in to your likeness and show love to our family members who do not feel lovable.

God as we come to you in the quiet we remember those who are ill in body, mind, and spirit.  Heal them and give them comfort.

God as we come to you in the quiet. we pray for peace in the world and especially the Middle East the home of  the three Abrahamic faiths. We pray for all those who work in support of the LGBTQIA, Muslim, Latino, and those on the margins of society.

God as we come to you in the quiet, we pray for an end to all forms of violence.

God as we come to you in the quiet, that we may find rest and peace as we sleep.

God as we come to you in the quiet may we feel your loving presence and still small voice calling us to take risks, love, and boldly go where you'd have us be.

God as we come to you in the quiet may we think about the least of these our family members.

God as we come to you in the quiet may we remember those who have died and those who are dying.

God as we come to you in the quiet may we pray and give thanks for__________________

God as we come to you in the quiet we lift up our prayers and thanksgivings in the name of Jesus. Amen.
