Good Evening Dear Family!
Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday! Today we begin our social justice campaign. Yes you heard me. Our social justice campaign! Today I'm asking everyone who reads this to pick up the mantle of all those who have set their feet on the pathway towards justice, peace, mercy, and the abolition of hate and violence in all its forms. We do not have time to waste. We must get ready to plant our feet, warm our voices up, and become radically courageous without fear. We have 74 days until the election and here is what we must do each day for the next 74 days Pick one from the list.:
First and foremost! Love everyone! Seek to love your enemy and do good to them. Be a champion and caregiver for the least of these! Practice peace and be a peacemaker. Love Everyone. Go into all the dark places of the world. Be lights, Be Love, Warm up the hearts that need to know love, peace, justice and mercy. Teach and show our family members how to be CALM ( Compassionate, Accepting, Loving and Merciful)
1. Speak truth to power against racism and bigotry in all its vicious and hidden forms.
2. Take time to write our elected officials and let them know that you will be using your faith standards when you enter the voting booth. If they aren't serving the least of these, they will not have your vote. Remind them that they work for us and not in the reverse.
3 Find out what your church is doing in regards to social justice ministry and become involved.
4. Give a donation to your local foodbank.
5. Make a point to visit a feeding program and see what they need.
6. Attend a City Council Meeting or County board of supervisors meeting.
7. Don't like what is being planned building wise in your community? To the Planning Commission you Go.
8. Go for walks in your town and take notes on the conditions of the sidewalks and infrastructure.
9. Read your voter's pamphlet and sample ballot.
10. Take the time to listen to people who aren't of your regular social group. Talk to our homeless family members and get to know their stories. See Jesus and God in all people.
11. Find out where your community health clinics are and go donate old magazines.
12. De-clutter and give away clothing you no longer need.
13. Write a letter on behalf of someone who is in trouble.
14. See if you can get to know those of us in the LGBTQ community as people not as caricatures. Get to know our issues and strive to help us become on equal footing with you.
15. Attend interfaith meetings and lectures and find out how you can make peace in your town and in the world.
16 Give of yourself.
17 Learn what it means to walk in someone else's shoes.
19 . Speak out against injustice.
20. Be the light in dark places.
21. Don't be afraid to call your friends and family out on their racist, bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic, and Islamaphobic words and behavior.
22. What is your town doing to welcome the stranger.
23. Educate yourself on these terms: Refugee, Asylum seeker, defector, immigrant, migrant, etc.
24 What is the process in this country for welcoming refugees. Do a biblical study on who were refugees in both the Hebrew Scriptures and New Testament.
25.Do a hero study on the following using Google, your public library or Calendar of Saints:

69. Refresh yourselves on the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence. and read the Mayflower Compact. Learn about the Constitution of the Iroquois Nations
70. Work for justice, freedom, and peace
71. Renew your baptismal vows with the emphasis on respecting the dignity of every human being.
72. Speak out against rising pharmaceutical costs and fair medical benefits.
73 Learn and advocate on memory related diseases.
74. Volunteer.
75. Do research on good charities that you give to and especially see what you can give towards disaster relief.

Jesus we pray and give thanks for all who gave their lives in the Stonewall riots to help pave the way for LGBTQ rights and the rights of those who are afraid to live authentically. May we see God in each of us who are in the LGBTQ community, who are family, allies, and friends , be enfolded into the mainstream community with out fear and labeling. Jesus we pray and give thanks for Elizabeth Cady Stanton and all of our sisters who fought for the rights of women so that they would no longer be property but full and perfect members of society and examples of citizenry to their sons and daughters. We pray that all of our sisters may have full protection and rights securely given them. We pray this in the Key of Jesus! Ring out the Bells of Justice for all of our family members now.
Jesus we pray and give thanks for all of our family members who were interned in the Japanese internment camps at Manzanar and Santa Anita. We pray for their contributions to our society and ask for their forgiveness for the wrongs we may have done out of fear and mistrust. We pray this in the Key of Jesus! Ring out the Bells of Justice for all of our family members now.
Jesus we pray and give thanks for the witness of all our Native and Indigenous Martyrs who were here in their homelands of origin in this country We pray for forgiveness for the wrongs we have done to them and remember the trail of tears that took them away from places they call home and became refugees in strange and distant lands. We remember this night all of our family members who are refugees. We pray that they may one day return home as You , Mary, and Joseph left Egypt for Nazareth. We pray this in the Key of Jesus! Ring out the Bells of Justice for all of our family members now.
Jesus we pray and give thanks for Malala and all children who speak truth to power. We pray for all our children that they may be protected from harm. May all of our youth look to Malala for hope and a role model of what one child can do. We pray this in the Key of Jesus! Ring out the Bells of Justice for all of our family members now.
