Hello Dear Ones!
I hope all is well! I'm sorry this is late. I took some time off from writing due to long Zoom Meetings. Screens sometime begin to hurt my eyes. Now my eyes are open no, doubt about it. Tonight we meditate upon today's Gospel reading where we meet Jesus in the upper room , and our traditional gospel lesson for the Second Sunday of Easter, featuring Thomas who is sometimes known as "Doubting Thomas". To me he was more of a tactile learner than a doubter. Jesus didn't seem to have trouble with this because he knew who God created. Each one of us comes with special programing that God installed. Who are you in this reading? Do you doubt? Do you need tangible proof? What does the word doubt mean to you? Take time to meditate upon these questions this week. What do you discover?

A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe." Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe."
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name.

Dear Ones it is time once again for our nightly Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil and light our candles and pray for an end to hatred and fear. We pray this night for clean air, water, and soil so that God's Cathedral of Life may be revived and protected. We pray for all of our family members who are on the margins and who feel lost, lonely, alone, and invisible. We pray for peace and safety in all cities, states, and nations of the world. Let us remember to wear our attitudes of CALM (compassion, acceptance, love and mercy) and gratitude in service to God and the entire family of God.

We pray for our family members who are refugees, asylum seekers, children in foster care, children who are seeking to be adopted and all who are waiting for their forever homes wherever that may be. We pray that we may practice radical hospitality and welcome all of our family members and especially the strangers who are in our midst. We pray that we may keep our eyes on all of our loved ones and pray that no one, not one will fall through the cracks. We pray that a community of CALM (Compassion, Acceptance, Love, and Mercy) may spring up around the world and especially where there is hatred, violence, terror, and division. We pray that peace, justice, and mercy may prevail upon Earth, that we may be be peacemakers and called the Children of God. Amen.

A Smudging Prayer
Creator, our Father in heaven, we come to you as your children. We confess that we are weak and broken images of you. We pray for the forgiveness and healing you give in Jesus Christ. May his Spirit clean our spirits, minds, hearts, and bodies. We pray that your Holy Spirit will help us to worship in spirit and truth. We pray in the name of Jesus, so that his Spirit will carry our prayers to you. Amen.
God, as we light our candles this night and pray that the words we pray may lend towards peace and CALM(Compassion Acceptance Love Mercy). God we pray that we may learn to use our words with gentleness and wisdom. We pray that we may pray and think about what we do and how we act. 19 On that same evening (Resurrection Sunday), the followers gathered together behind locked doors in fear that some of the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem were still searching for them. Out of nowhere, Jesus appeared in the center of the room.
Jesus: May each one of you be at peace.
20 As He was speaking, He revealed the wounds in His hands and side. The disciples began to celebrate as it sank in that they were really seeing the Lord.
Jesus: 21 I give you the gift of peace. In the same way the Father sent Me, I am now sending you.
22 Now He drew close enough to each of them that they could feel His breath. He breathed on them:
Jesus: Welcome the Holy Spirit of the living God. 23 You now have the mantle of God’s forgiveness. As you go, you are able to share the life-giving power to forgive sins, or to withhold forgiveness.

Loving God we thank you for this day of Sabbath rest the gift of sleep. Before we slumber we light our candles and pray for all of our family members who are facing any struggle or anxiety this week.
We pray that we may give ourselves over to kind words and loving deeds in service to our family members. We pray for peace in this fragile and broken world that has been fraught with war, disaster, and terror. We pray that we may find ourselves rising to help others in Jesus Name and spread the Good News that God is Love. We take time in the silence of our hearts to pray for______________ and add our thanksgivings__________________. As our season of prayer continues we pray this night for the peoples and nations of Egypt, Syria, Afghanistan and all places where there is terror and acts of war being committed. We pray for all those who have lost their lives this weekend and those who mourn their loss. We pray for refugees, captives, and victims of human trafficking. Let us be light bearers and show and love others. We pray that we may be CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful) this night and always. Amen.
