Good Evening Dear Ones!
Happy Monday! As I sit here in solitude I'm finding that God is truly present and I am not alone! In our Gospel lesson from Matthew today we find out from Jesus that we as people of faith need not be overt in our expressions of faith but behind closed doors a.k.a. secret. This is what many of us are doing these days as we worship. Our faith communities are taking church out into the world and back into our homes where it all began. We have our own upper rooms, hermitages, sanctuaries of silence, and sacred spaces that were once old but new and sources of holy comfort again. Tonight let us meditate upon the words hermit and monastery. So let us begin.

Creator, our Father in heaven, we come to you as your children. We confess that we are weak and broken images of you. We pray for the forgiveness and healing you give in Jesus Christ. Covid-19 - Praying for the World at Work
We have ammended our usual prayer schedule to reflect the unprecedented times we currently face. Please continue to pray for key-workers and everyone working in the front line, often at significant personal risk and cost
Our usual prayer cycle invites us to pray this week for those involved in interior design, provision of home furnishings etc. We might use this opportunity to pray for all those within this sector who are unable to work at this time, or whose livelehoods are under threat. As we focus on the home, our thoughts inevitabely turn to the reality that many are having to work from home, stay at home, home school etc. With this in mind we pray:
Loving God help us to use our homes well in these difficult days. Whether they have become places of isolation or places of congestion, places of frustration or of contemplation, may they also be the places where we discover your presence in new and deeper ways. AMEN
