Walk With me on Our Journey: Let us remember and give thanks for the life of Little Richard on the occasion of his passing!

Good Evening Dear Ones!

Early this evening I participated in a Virtual Vigil for the victims of Covid-19. We are doing ongoing vigils daily. Today I would like to remember Little Richard. He brought a lot of joy and energy to our lives through his flamboyant musical style. Music should be part of our lives daily during this crisis. If you aren't listening to it you should. Tonight I encourage you to go on Youtube and find music by Little Richard or your favorite musician to help heal your bodies, minds, and spirits and regain some kind of harmony in your lives. Last night I watched the move "The Way" with Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez. The movie takes place on the Camino. This period that we are living through is very much like a pilgrimage. Listening to music is like going on a pilgrimage and does wonders for the soul. So tonight let us pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Little Richard and all who have died this week.

We begin with these two pieces of scripture.

Everything Has Its Time

The hallowing of your name echo through the universe!

The way of your justice be followed by the peoples

of the world!

Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!

Your commonwealth of peace and freedom

sustain our hope and come on earth.

With the bread we need for today, feed us.

In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.

In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.

From trials too great to endure, spare us.

Almighty God, who has revealed to your Church your eternal Being of glorious majesty and perfect love as one God in Trinity of Persons: Give us grace that, like your bishop Gregory of Nazianzus, we may continue steadfast in the confession of this faith, and constant in our worship of you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who live and reign for ever and ever. O All-Transcendent God

what words can hymn Your praises?

…..No word does You justice.

What mind can probe Your secret?

…..No mind can encompass You.

You are alone beyond the power of speech,

yet all that we speak stems from You.

You are alone beyond the power of thought,

yet all that we can conceive springs from You.

All things proclaim You,

those endowed with reason and those bereft of it.

All the expectation and pain of the world coalesces in You.

All things utter a prayer to You, a silent hymn composed by You.

You sustain everything that exists,

and all things move together to Your orders.
