Dear Family of God!
I hope everyone had a blessed day and were able to keep in touch with God and your family members! The memorial service I attended today was wonderful. A true celebration of life.
The one thing we all must be reminded of is this: Don't take your parent's lives, stories, and old and dear friends for granted. They hold all kinds of mysteries and lore that you'll never know ,unless you keep in touch with old friends and their children. We all must begin to represent our families at our parent's old and dear friends memorial services. So that we can hear the stories and the lore that surrounds our parent's past.
This is what I posted on Facebook:
Some of us who are survivors after our parents die need to be reminded of this:. Please don't waste time with bitterness or be disinterested about your parent's lives and friends. Take an interest. Get to know their old and dear friends. Remember they are as much keepers of your lore as you are. Make sure you keep in touch with old family friends. Today was an example of how many times we seem to forget that before we were born our parent's old friends were their family members by choice.
Let us pray and light our candles:
God of all wisdom and comfort. we light our candles and pray for the people of Japan, Ecuador, and all other places where there have been natural disasters. We pray for the gifts of old and dear friends who have become family to us. Help us dear God not to take our families, friends, and neighbors for granted. Give us courage to ask the questions about our parent's early lives and become keepers of the lore.We pray this night for all who are grieving any kind of loss and who are pre-grieving. We pray for peace in this world and that we may comfort your people with Compassion,Acceptance, Love, and Mercy. We pray for restful and peaceful sleep this night and that we may lay our burdens and anxieties down at your feet.
God our creator help us to find the necessary endurance in our lives to live, love, move, and just be.
God we pray for all of your children who are ill that they may find the courage to stay the course and be patient patients. May they find strength in their weakness.
God we pray for all of our family members who are in need of courage to leave abusive and dangerous situations.
God we pray that our faith in you may never falter and that our faith may blossom from that tiny mustard seed.
God we pray that we may become resilient in all aspects of our lives.
God we pray for our family members who live in war torn ,violence prone and areas affected by natural disasters in the world that there may be peace and healing.
God we pray for all who mourn that they may have the endurance to grieve, Courage to take each day one at a time, faith to know that things will get better, and resiliency to bounce back slowly from sadness and adversity.
God we pray for all of our family members who are involved in athletic events that they may have the physical and mental endurance to participate.
God we pray this night for the least of these, give them endurance to survive, courage to find services, faith in you, and resiliency with you to find a new life path and safe living conditions.
God we pray that there may be an end to hate, fear, doubt , and injustice.
God we thank you for giving us endurance, courage, faith, and resiliency. May we all learn how to have each of these in our own lives.
God we lift up our own prayers and thanksgivings in the name of Jesus your Son who had endurance, courage, faith, and resiliency. Amen.
