Good Evening Dear Family!
Happy Friday! Our weekend retreat is here! Remember we are to scale back the use of our digital equipment part of the time. To prepare for our weekend let us do our Worry Sabbath Work by getting out our Jars, journals, or boxes and write down our worries, mads, etc and place them in the boxes and let them alone until Monday. After you do this please return and we will make vigil and pray.Selections from tonight's liturgy are from A New Zealand Prayer Book the Book of Common Prayer.
While you write please listen to this: The Mission Soundtrack

God is spirit, and those who worship God must worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; let the whole earth stand in awe. Psalm 96:9
Through Jesus let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, the fruit of lips that acknowledge God’s name. Hebrews 13:15
When anyone is united to Christ, there is a new world; the old order has gone, and a new order has already begun.
2 Corinthians 5:17
O Gracious Light Phos hilaron
O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
Hail, gladdening Light, of God’s pure glory poured,
Who is the immortal Father, heavenly, blest,
Holiest of holies, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Who is the immortal Father, heavenly, blest,
Holiest of holies, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now we are come to the sun’s hour of rest,
The lights of evening round us shine,
We hymn the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit divine.
The lights of evening round us shine,
We hymn the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit divine.
Worthiest art thou at all times to be sung,
With undefilèd tongue,
Son of our God, Giver of life, alone!
Therefore in all the world thy glories, Lord, they own.
With undefilèd tongue,
Son of our God, Giver of life, alone!
Therefore in all the world thy glories, Lord, they own.
We light our candles and make vigil and pray for all who are suffering around the world. We remember our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Texas, Florida, and all over the world where there are disasters and national stress.
Kyrie for the Magdalene
God help us to be calm and instill our hearts and heart homes with compassion, acceptance, love and mercy and may we have the necessary Love Energy to accomplish the many things you are calling us to do.
God help us to calm down and be more mindful as we go through all the hustle and bustle of this new season and beyond.
God help us to be more reverent in our devotion and worship to you at church, home, out and about and in your Cathedral of Life.
God help us to take time to care for ourselves and others, being mindful of our needs and our family members.
God help us to be attentive to all of our family members who are ill. Help us to be co-healers with you and that they may know that they are loved and cared for. May we be mindful of all of their struggles in body, mind, and spirit.
God give us courage to examine all the facts in the daily news cycle and speak truth to power.
God give us the mind of your Son Jesus Christ that we may model our lives after Him.
God give us the courage to lovingly respond and care for your children who are the least of these.
God make us to be the peacemakers that you need us to be to help love,heal, and care for your world and may we lovingly respond to the needs of all of our family members who are victims of war, violence, terror, and human trafficking.
God give us an awareness of those things that cause us to be a divided world and may we learn what it means to be truly your family and love one another.
God we pray for all faith leaders who need the courage to learn how to be united in love, peace, and harmony and accept belief systems that may differ from their own.
God we pray for all who are seeking employment and discerning new life paths.
God we offer our prayers and thanksgivings to you for ourselves and on behalf of those who have asked us to pray and those who haven't the courage to ask for prayers.
God we lift up these our prayers, thanksgivings, celebrations, and remembrances in the Name of your Son Jesus our redeemer, healer, reconciler, brother and friend. Amen.

108 Paratum cor meum
1 My heart is firmly fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; *
I will sing and make melody.
2 Wake up, my spirit;
awake, lute and harp; *
I myself will waken the dawn.
3 I will confess you among the peoples, O Lord; *
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
4 For your loving-kindness is greater than the heavens, *
and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
5 Exalt yourself above the heavens, O God, *
and your glory over all the earth.
6 So that those who are dear to you may be delivered, *
save with your right hand and answer me.
Isaiah 44:1-6,8
44But now hear, O Jacob my servant,
Israel whom I have chosen!
2 Thus says the Lord who made you,
who formed you in the womb and will help you:
Do not fear, O Jacob my servant,
Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour my spirit upon your descendants,
and my blessing on your offspring.
4 They shall spring up like a green tamarisk,
like willows by flowing streams.
5 This one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’,
another will be called by the name of Jacob,
yet another will write on the hand, ‘The Lord’s’,
and adopt the name of Israel.
Israel whom I have chosen!
2 Thus says the Lord who made you,
who formed you in the womb and will help you:
Do not fear, O Jacob my servant,
Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel
and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
I am the first and I am the last;
besides me there is no god.
8 Do not fear, or be afraid;
have I not told you from of old and declared it?
You are my witnesses!
Is there any god besides me?
There is no other rock; I know not one.

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith: We give you heartfelt thanks for the pioneering spirit of your servant Philander Chase, and for his zeal in opening new frontiers for the ministry of your Church. Grant us grace to minister in Christ's name in every place, led by bold witnesses to the Gospel of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,

and deliver us from evil.

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen
I hope everyone is ready for our period of Sabbath Rest, Self-care, retreat, and renewal. To enter in to our retreat mode let us meditate and pray Mendelssohn's "O Rest in the Lord" from Elijah. Let us read the lyrics and then listen to the song:
O rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him,
And He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
Oh, rest in the Lord,
Wait patiently for Him,
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires;
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
Commit thy way unto Him, and trust in Him,
Commit thy way unto Him, and trust in Him,
And fret not thyself because of evil doers.
O rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him.
Wait patiently for Him.
Oh rest in the Lord,
wait patiently for Him.
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
He shall give thee thy heart’s desires;
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
Oh rest in the Lord.
Oh rest in the Lord.
& wait, wait, patiently for Him.

you that stand by night in the house of the Lord.
2 Lift up your hands in the holy place and bless the Lord; *

Good Night Dear Ones! Our theme this weekend will be on how we as people must be receptive to seasonal changes, not just liturgical ones.
I love you, may God give us his blessing, and may we show gratitude, hospitality one to another each day that we live, move, and just be.
With love and blessings,
Sara
