Speaking Truth to Power while Loving our Neighbors! A Rant has been unleashed.

Dear Family of Love,

Happy Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly Without Fretting !  Do you know how to determine if you are doing God's will and God is speaking through you? Your words, posts, and tweets may rub someone the wrong way. That's okay! As you know I am not a supporter of Donald Trump and am not averse to telling anyone so. I also am now making it a habit of telling our family members why and encouraging them and us to wake up before we walk over the cliff. Speaking truth to power is necessary at all times. We are called to do this and mightily without reservation  and fear. Some people, Donald Trump included aren't suited to lead our country let alone a community Bible study. My faith teaches me that when God calls me to speak, I must speak, When I'm called to act, I must act, when I'm to lay down my life for my family members, I must lay down my life for my family members. Without question! The words, deeds, and actions of people who aren't walking the walk and talking the talk in preparation for leadership are not the people we as children of God need in leadership in all places of our lives. We need people who are going to represent the best in us not the worst and who will show the world what true inclusion, equality, and human rights for all people look like. We need to have leaders who will not be afraid of skin color, country of origin, religious persuasion, or body type. As I looked at some of the things Donald Trump has said this past year and this week I have become painfully aware that he is not leadership material and isn't a good role model for our children and yes even our brothers and sisters who live in countries beyond our borders. I look to and for leaders who know what it means to serve the least of these, who can love the people we serve and care for who come to our window for lunches, who are able to sit down and talk to their brother and sister who may be your friendly neighborhood neighbor who is a mixture of many characteristics whom they fear or hate. I look for our leaders to be followers of the CALM principle who are (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful). So when I say that we need to speak truth to power while loving our neighbors that means setting people straight as God calls us to do and that means setting your chosen candidate straight about unacceptable behavior, speech, and divisive tones and actions that are harmful. Here ends today's rant ! Now onto the business of God.

Our Meditation: Comes from last year's blog if you'd like to read it in it's entirety:

Loving our neighbor and being inclusive just got a little more complicated!

How do I love my neighbors when they are unlovable?

Let's spend some time in prayer and meditation and light a candle in love and unity with each other.

How do I love my neighbors when they are unlovable?

I have found a way to love the baddies and those who wish us harm and it is simply this, we must love them as the little children they were before they put on the mantle of unsavoriness. That is the only way I can wrap my head and heart around it.  How do you do this?  Being in a loving and inclusive relationship with all of our brothers and sisters both the good, bad, the ugly, and those who rub us the wrong way is complicated and complex and requires work of the most delicate and time consuming kind. Anything worthwhile requires our Love Energy and heart homes to be thoroughly engaged with the support of our Loving God, Brother Christ, and the Empowering and Enlivening Spirit. How are we going to love our family members who rub us the wrong way?  Let's start from the very beginning and  think about this list I'm about to give you:

They are made in the image and likeness of God!
They are children of God.
They are someone's child, friend, spouse, family member, and co-worker.
They are loved by their family members.
They are accepted by their church families Their faith communities may be different from yours and mine and that doesn't make it bad. It just is.  We pray for them anyway.
They are human beings just as we are.
They are sinners and remember they may rub us the wrong way and have received salvation from Jesus too. I have a feeling that our family members who rub us the wrong way may be our welcoming committee when we make our journey into Heaven. So we better work on the love, inclusion, and acceptance part while we are here on earth.

To them we may rub them the wrong way too. What are your thoughts?

Take time to meditate on the above and write down if  you'd like the names of who our family members are. Afterwards you may enter into the Mindfulness 5+  and breathing exercises.  If you do not wish to add those then move straight into prayer time.

Mindfulness 5+ is a period of timed meditation for 5 minutes and if you so desire want to add additional time.

God  of kindness, help us to be kind and not hateful and replace hate for kindness, love, justice, and mercy.

God of all creation, we pray that we may become united with all creation and practice Godly conservation that will please You and heal your planet for the good of all living things. We pray for rain that it will heal all the drought
stricken areas of the world and in our state.

God of Healing, Heal all of our family members who are in need of healing of body, mind, and spirit.
May we reach out to them when they cry and ask for help.

God of Comfort,  We pray for all those who pre-grieving and sitting vigil at bedside while they wait for their loved ones to transition into the Thin Places. May we offer solace and comfort when needed.

God we pray for all those who are dying and who have died today that they may have or have had a joyful and peaceful journey into the Thin Places.

God of all Gentleness, we pray for the health and safety for all of the little ones your children. We pray that they may be treated as precious treasures and may be cared for tenderly.

God of Forgiveness and mercy we ask forgiveness of all the wrongs that we have done either by omission and commission.

God of Love, may we always be loving and thankful.

God we add our prayers for ourselves and on behalf of others  now_____________________

God we lift up these our prayers in the name of your Son Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Listen and watch for the messengers who God brings to us each and every day!

Good Evening Dearly Loved Ones!

Happy Feast of St. Michael and All Angels or in a few places Michaelmas! This is a time where we all need to listen for messengers of all kinds and our inner angels who help God by giving us that gentle tap on the shoulder or that breeze that gently cools our emotions down when we are having battles with our mean and angry side. God puts messengers in our lives daily and not just heavenly ones. I find it interesting that many who come to the window while we give out the lunches are these messengers too. Take time to listen and watch for the messengers, evangelists, prophets, teachers and anyone whom God brings to us each day. They may not always be heavenly ones!

Tonight we are going to listen to one of my favorite tunes to get us ready to pray and meditate.

Calling All Angels - KD Lang & Jane Siberry (Lyrics)

Tonight we are going to have a time silence where we don't do anything  for a period of 5 to 10 minutes with our eyes closed. You might want to find something that has a timer on it so that you will be ready to go into silence and not have to run around finding the timer. Before we do that let us do our breathing exercises to get us ready and relaxed. Do these for three sets.

Inhale

Be still and know that I am God

Now let us set our timer for 5 or 10 minutes:
Close our eyes and don't move, just be. How did that feel?  Keep working at it and you will master this wonderful time of mindfulness and contemplation.

Let us be at prayer and take our time being in conversation and listening with God.

God of Love, we pray this night for all who don't feel your loving arms around them. Help us to love the unloving and wrap our loving arms around them.

God of Creation, we give thanks to you for all that you have made and may we walk tenderly in God's Cathedral of Life.

God of  Love, we pray for peace in this fragile and broken world. Heal all divisions and  lead us to be peacemakers and  hope bearers.

God of Creation, we pray for rain and an awareness that we are called to be conservationists and stewards of this planet that you called into being.

God of Love, we pray that we all may be lead to full inclusion as Your family Members.

God of Healing, we pray for all our family members both great and small who are ill and seek your healing touch . May they receive your healing and loving grace.

God of Life, may we take time to live as you would have us do. May we respond to your call and follow you wherever you lead us.

God of all Mercy, we pray for all who are transitioning towards a new live with You in the Thin Places and all who have made the heavenly and joyous journey into eternal life.

God  of  all Gentleness comfort those who mourn and may we we be sources of strength and comfort to them.

God we give thanks to you for our many blessings especially_____________________

God of our family, we pray for all our family members and ourselves  remembering especially_____________

Lord Jesus come quickly and heal us and make us whole. We lift these our prayers to you In your most Holy Name. Amen.

Listen to this : God's Love Letter

Or you may choose this meditation!

Tonight let us meditate what it means to be a messenger of peace, love, hope, and inclusion of all. Remember God means all and not some! We do not get to play pick and choose. Everyone gets to play and be a part of God's Family and is Forgiven all their Sins, Let us take time to go to the center and find peace and learn from the peacemaker of all God and hear what God is saying to us this night.

Tonight's meditative music is this:Johann Pachelbel Chamber Works, London Baroque or this Pachelbel Canon in D one hour version

Holy and merciful God our hearts continue to be heavy with all the saddening and troubling  events around your broken and fragile world. May we lean on you and seek your encircling and  comforting mercy, peace, and love.

We pray this night for all troubled cities around the world remembering especially __________. We pray for peace and that all of our family members may be safe and that all this rancor and violence may cease.

We pray for all children who are sick and in the hospital and receiving treatments. We pray also for their parents and the medical teams who care for them.

We pray that we may continue to lay down our burdens, worries, and anxieties and anything else that  prevents us from being at peace in body, mind, and spirit.

We pray for all who are near and dear to us and especially those who are on our prayer hearts tonight and  on the prayer hearts of our extended family members.

We pray that  we may become messengers of  God's Good News and that we may be lights of the Gospel to all those who do not know it and to those who may have forgotten what God's Gospel message means.

We pray that we may find our voices to speak truth to power and of the many injustices in our land and around the world.

We pray today for all who are dying and have entered into Heavenly Joy.

We pray for all who are homeless, hungry, refugees, captives, victims of human trafficking, victims of war in our country and around the world, those who seek equality and inclusion, those who long to be able to seek safety from those who hate, harm, bully, and make them feel invisible and insecure.

Gracious God we remember today St. Michael and all Angels with this prayer from the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER.

Everlasting God, you have ordained and constituted in a wonderful order the ministries of angels and mortals: Mercifully grant that, as your holy angels always serve and worship you in heaven, so by your appointment they may help and defend us here on earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Gracious and loving God we offer these our prayers in the name of Your only Son Jesus. Amen.

For those of you who wish to have today's special readings for today they are here:

Genesis 28:10-17

Jacob left Beer-sheba and went toward Haran. He came to a certain place and stayed there for the night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place. And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, the top of it reaching to heaven; and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And the LORD stood beside him and said, "I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring; and your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your offspring. Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Then Jacob woke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this place-- and I did not know it!" And he was afraid, and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."

Psalm 103 or 103:19-22 Page 733, 734, BCP

Benedic, anima mea

1
Bless the LORD, O my soul, *
and all that is within me, bless his holy Name.
2
Bless the LORD, O my soul, *
and forget not all his benefits.
3
He forgives all your sins *
and heals all your infirmities;
4
He redeems your life from the grave *
and crowns you with mercy and loving-kindness;
5
He satisfies you with good things, *
and your youth is renewed like an eagle's.
6
The LORD executes righteousness *
and judgment for all who are oppressed.
7
He made his ways known to Moses *
and his works to the children of Israel.
8
The LORD is full of compassion and mercy, *
slow to anger and of great kindness.
9
He will not always accuse us, *
nor will he keep his anger for ever.
10
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, *
nor rewarded us according to our wickedness.
11
For as the heavens are high above the earth, *
so is his mercy great upon those who fear him.
12
As far as the east is from the west, *
so far has he removed our sins from us.
13
As a father cares for his children, *
so does the LORD care for those who fear him.
14
For he himself knows whereof we are made; *
he remembers that we are but dust.
15
Our days are like the grass; *
we flourish like a flower of the field;
16
When the wind goes over it, it is gone, *
and its place shall know it no more.
17
But the merciful goodness of the LORD endures for ever on those who fear him, *
and his righteousness on children's children;
18
On those who keep his covenant *
and remember his commandments and do them.
19
The LORD has set his throne in heaven, *
and his kingship has dominion over all.
20
Bless the LORD, you angels of his,
you mighty ones who do his bidding, *
and hearken to the voice of his word.
21
Bless the LORD, all you his hosts, *
you ministers of his who do his will.
22
Bless the LORD, all you works of his,
in all places of his dominion; *
bless the LORD, O my soul.

Revelation 12:7-12

War broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back, but they were defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world-- he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, proclaiming,

"Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of his Messiah,
for the accuser of our comrades has been thrown down,
who accuses them day and night before our God.
But they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony,
for they did not cling to life even in the face of death.
Rejoice then, you heavens
and those who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
for the devil has come down to you
with great wrath,
because he knows that his time is short!"

John 1:47-51

When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, "Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!" Nathanael asked him, "Where did you get to know me?" Jesus answered, "I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you." Nathanael replied, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" Jesus answered, "Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these." And he said to him, "Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

Christ the Fair Glory of the Holy Angels

1 Christ, the fair glory of the holy angels,
maker of all things, ruler of all nations,
grant of thy mercy unto us thy servants
steps up to heaven.

2 Send thine archangel Michael to our succour;
peacemaker blessed, may he banish from us
striving and hatred, so that for the peaceful
all things may prosper. and all Angels!

3 Send thine archangel Gabriel, the mighty;
herald of heaven, may he, from us mortals,
drive every evil, watching o'er the temples
where thou art worshiped.

4 Send from the heavens Raphael thine archangel,
health-bringer blessed, aiding every sufferer,
that, in thy service, he may wisely guide us,
healing and blessing.

5 May the blest mother of our God and Saviour,
may the celestial companies of angels,
may the assembly of the saints in heaven
help us to praise thee.

6 Father Almighty, Son, and Holy Spirit,
God ever blessèd, hear our thankful praises;
thine is the glory which from all creation
ever ascendeth.

92 bottles of water, 46 shelf stable lunches, the homeless, the hungry, and the heartbroken

Good Evening Dear Family of Love,

It's Take Care Tuesday and that means we get to have our new weekly series Stories From the Window and this surrounds the theme of Water. Tonight we pray for the need for holy hydration from the springs of Living Water.

Let's begin with today's Stories from the Window Part III:

Stories from the Window!

Today it was another hot day down at the Faith Factory. I decided to go in an hour early to work on #StPetersKeys because we need it our reader's e-mail boxes by the 1st. I also love the cool temperature down at the church as it has become my favorite sanctuary. I have been dealing with pain and discomfort issues for days and my hands are not feeling very good. Today we gave out 46 lunches with an additional 46 bottles of water to keep our family members hydrated. Today my heart was touched beyond belief because our family members just kept coming and coming. Some of them hadn't eaten all day due to having been afflicted by heat exhaustion and couldn't make it to the Salvation Army for the Noon Meal. Joseph one of our family members was clearly upset when he told me about a friend of his who died today. It's those moments when you realize the connections they have are as precious as the ones we have and even more. But the main theme today was Water. Water is what helps us live both physically and spiritually. Water is what gives our skin life and the feeling of cool and comfort. Water is what keeps us clean, our clothes clean, etc. Water is also what Jesus is to us. The Living Water that courses through our veins and guides us though the living Word and World. Today I remembered the old commercial for Olympia Brewing company " It's the water!" Well dear ones It's the Living Water that binds us together and if we don't have enough we become dried out and not able to function spiritually, physically, and soulfully and everything else.. So today in the words of Robin to Batman "Holy Hydration!" We need all the holy hydration we can get. We need to share it. While we still have hot days here is something you can do at home to take out to the homeless and have in your cars:
Hydration packs: 1: bag
1or 2; Bottles of water
1 or two Cutie tangerines
Sm pkg of Wash n Dries
If they aren't too expensive a bandanna and a wash cloth.
Remember to hydrate and help our family members to do it too!
Love and blessings!
Sara

Let us enter into the meditation on water and then we shall pray!

As a person who lives in California where there is severe drought we are realizing that water is our most precious resource. We need it to live, Plants and animals need it to grow and live, and we need it for our bodies, minds, and spirits too. God must have thought water was an important part in God's plan for Creation  and that's why it was made on the Third Day before we arrived on the scene. So tonight let us think of the many ways in which we  use water and also how we can become good at conserving water. After we meditate upon water that helps us live, let us turn to the Water of Life that is like an artesian well that will never run dry and when we drink from it we will never be thirsty.

Think of these images of ripples in the pond and in the water as we meditate.

How do these images speak to you?
Can you see the inter-connectedness of the ripples and waves?
What do these things remind you of?
Are we interconnected?
Now sit back and listen to this song by John Michael Talbot- Living Water  and these  pieces from John Rutter For The Beauty of the Earth and All Things Bright and Beautiful ,

To prepare for our prayers listen to this before we pray All Good Gifts -Godspell

Let us light our candles and pray as we carry the light into a thirsty world by bringing The Water and the Word to all of our family members who need it!

Let us pray and give thanks for God's gift of water and the Water of Life that Courses through our veins.

God we pray this night for refreshing rain that will take us out of the severe drought that our world is in.

God we pray that we may never take water for granted and that we may use this precious resource wisely.

God we pray for all who are thirsty, homeless, hungry, and ill-clad.

God we pray for all  who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

God we pray for  all who are thirsty and hungering to know you O God . We pray that they may find you a loving and merciful God.

God we pray for all who are ill and chronically ill that they may drink of the healing waters that you are providing for them,

God we give thanks for uniting all of your children who have been baptized with the Living Water of Life into your family.

God we pray that we may be good stewards and conservationists of the air, the waters, the soils, and all the natural resources you created so that we and your creation may live.

God we pray this night that our lives may be enlivened by your spirit and the Waters of Life that courses through our veins.

God we pray for all of our family members who do not have access to clean water.

God we pray for those who are grieving and shedding tears of mourning that they may receive from you and us loving comfort.

God we pray for all who are thirsting for knowledge where educational opportunities are few that they may find power just as Malala did within the pages of books and education.

God we pray for all those who have died this day that their bodies were gently cleansed and lovingly prepared for their final journey to your heavenly kingdom.

God we pray for __________________

God we celebrate and give thanks for__________________

We lift these our prayers and thanksgivings in the name of Jesus your Son the Water and Bread of Life. Amen.

Good Night Dear Family ! Don't forget to hydrate physically and spiritually!
I love you and may you have a restful and peaceful sleep.

With love to the brimful and overflowing as the Waters of Life do,
