Making peace with the past year and those who have hurt us. Forgiveness as part of healing and making peace! A must before the new year begins!

Dear Family of Love,

As we take our yearly trip down memory lane before this year comes to a close we need to take time to make peace with the past and those who have hurt us.  Making peace is very important if we want to move on and not have the past year or the past lingering in our heart homes and in our minds. We need to let go and place the bad memories that have held us hostage and kept us from being at peace, being hopeful, being joyful, and being loving. We need to forgive those who have hurt us  not because they need it but because we do. Forgiveness is also necessary when our loved ones have caused deep division in our families. God wants us to be forgiving so that we wall may be united in love as The Family of God or as I call it the Family of Love. Forgiveness is like a vacuum because it cleans up messes of all kinds and is very healing. We live in a world today where we have become unnecessarily hardened by fear, hate, apathy, injustice, inequality, and extremism just to name a few. When we forgive we open our heart homes to the possibility that the above will not have any power over us and our hearts will become so tenderized that we  will not fear but have courage, hate will become love, apathy will become action with compassion and empathy, injustice will become justice that rolls down, inequality with lead to equality with universal human rights, extremism will vanish and will lead to life in the center. But above all else forgiving and letting go with open us up for brand new adventures that we haven't taken yet. That doesn't mean that everything will be easy as pie no, not at all but it will lead us to a more peaceful existence with one another. Here is something for us to consider, Let us make a treaty and promise to ourselves  and our family members in the next 26 hours these things:

Dear Family of love,

I promise to myself and you my family members in 2015 to do these things for the benefit of all.

Love God,My  Neighbor who is also my family member who may be nearby, far away and yes even my enemy, and myself with out fear but with love.
Forgive and let go so that I may experience the healing of my heart home.
Love my enemies and those who have wished and caused me harm  so that I may be at peace.
Practice random acts of kindness without accepting anything in return.
To be more giving, more of a listener, more patient when needed, more, more, more.
Be a peacemaker who carries the light of Christ in to God's Fragile and Broken World.
Be a conservationist for the good of God's Cathedral of life.
Care for all our family members with love, empathy, and compassion.
Continue to work towards the unity and peace of all our brothers and sisters.
Additional promises may be made as we go through the year.

This is my promise made with love, joy, hope, and peace this day December 30, 2014
Signed
Sara

Now dear family make up your own and meditate upon these things. Here is tonight's meditation music Millenium Full Score - Hans Zimmer

Holy God we pray for the forgiveness of  our misdeeds and sins as we forgive those who have hurt us . Help us to learn to ask for forgiveness and be forgiving so that there may be peace and healing in our heart homes.

Holy God we pray that we may let go of the many things that may linger in our heart homes from the past year so that we my find peace.

Holy God we pray that all warring factions may lay down their weaponry and practice peace and learn to love.

Holy God we pray for all God's children who are in harms way this night.

Holy God we pray for all homeless, hungry, and  those who do not have good clothing who will not find shelter from the cold tonight.

Holy God we pray for all who are ill and in need of healing. We  pray for peace in their hearts while they await your healing.

Holy God we continue to pray for Baby Sophia,
The passengers and crew of Asia Air who have lost their lives and for the many family and friends who mourn their loss,
For all cities in our country who are experiencing unrest. We pray for an end to all gun violence and  hate of any kind.
For those who are traveling this holiday season.
For families where there is division.
For our additional prayers and thanksgivings______________________________________
For those suffering from Mental illness and depression this time of year.
For all caregivers.

Holy God we lay these our prayers at the feet  and in the Name of  your only son Jesus who came to show us how to forgive, love, and care for all God's children. Amen.

Good Night Dear Family of Love! I love you May you feel God's peaceful presence in your heart home tonight. I give thanks to God for you this night and always.

Caring for this our family of love and being there for each other 24/7/ 365 ! We are all caregivers! We Lovingly Respond to each other's needs and cries for help and support. That's what God's Children do!

Dear Family of Love,

I hope everyone had a good day and that you remembered that it is You Matter Monday! How many of you felt the downward spiral of emotions  today? I think it is quite normal to feel this way this season and it doesn't matter where you live or are vacationing! It all hits us. It's the cold weather and changes of sunlight and length of days. We all must dial in to support each other as we battle Seasonal Affective Disorder and  Holiday Depression. and anything else we as family are struggling with. This isn't just limited to this time of year, it is all the time where we must care for one another. We all are called to be caregivers and sometimes our roles may be reversed where we are receiving care and are the least of these. You just never know.  So dear family we are going to do a once a month meditation time focusing in on the caregivers in our lives and those who are receiving care.
We need to be mindful that God is the Chief Caregiver, Jesus is God's Assistant and caregiving specialist on the ground and in the field, and the Holy Spirit is our friendly neighborhood empowering agent  calling us to lovingly respond to the needs of others. Remember when I asked you to make a list of who caregivers are? Well I think it is time to do it again this time let us start with ourselves and then make our lists After we do this let us pray our lists. Our meditation music is this Tingstad and Rumbel - A Moment's Peace Mix

Gracious God you are the chief caregiver of us all be with all those who are caring for your children. Give them courage each day as they face the many challenges of caring for their loved ones.

Gracious God we thank you that we have been adopted as your children so that we may help care for the least of these and as we do so realize ever so fully that we are your Family of Love.

Gracious God we  pray for our family members who are receiving care may they be able to accept help and learn to let go and let others lend a hand without feeling guilty our bearing a grudge.

Gracious God we pray that as caregivers and care receivers we may have empathy for one another.

Gracious God we pray for peace in the world and may we become caregivers who are also peacemakers.

Gracious God we pray for an end to violence of any kind may we start to care and have our heart homes tenderized and not hardened by these senseless acts.

Gracious God we pray our caregiver list and ask for prayers for ourselves and on behalf of our family members who have requested our prayers especially_____________________

Gracious God we continue to pray for Baby Sophia, Those on Air Asia who may have lost their lives and their loved ones who are going through grief and pre-grieving, , Those who are homeless and without shelter on these cold nights, all who are traveling, those who are healing from surgery, and all those who are afraid to ask for our love and prayer support.

We ask these our prayers in the name of Jesus who taught us how to care in words, deeds, and love Jesus we thank you for teaching us that you meant all means all and not some. That everyone was included in your saving embrace on the cross. That you continue to show us the right pathways in which to be caregivers on to another by the example of the Good Samaritan and the Woman with the Alabaster Jar. In Your most holy name. Amen.
