Dear Family of Love,
Last evening when I posted this picture
and posted used this hash tag #FollowTheStar in my wish for you today on Twitter and Facebook, little did I know that when I saw "Christmas is Here Again" at the Pacific Conservatory Theater this evening, that a star would figure prominently. Yet, a star did figure prominently and yes, in the play even a little child named Sophiana would lead them out of darkness by carrying a star. The story was about a time when Christmas wasn't celebrated for 30 years because Santa Claus decided not to put coal in the naughty children's presents. The play started out in a cold school where students had to be kept away from all joy, love, peace, and goodwill due to a fight between Santa and a dark devilish fiend named Krad. It kind of resembled the war in Heaven between St. Michael and Lucifer. The adults had to shield the children from having hope, believe in all that is good and possible. All of the children at the school had to stay locked up tight on Christmas Eve. We are presented with the adventures of Sophiana and her friends who were looking for Santa's mystical and refillable sack that was made from the swaddling blanket that belonged to Jesus in the manger, by the end of the musical play restored Christmas to its rightful place. I'm not going to give it all away, If you have access to a DVD player get "Christmas is Here Again" and if you are in the Santa Maria Area for one more week go see it at the Pacific Conservatory Theater. You won't want to miss it and the special effects were done by the same people to brought to you the film "Frozen". This production gave me lots of food for thought.
So what does following a star mean to today. I for one have had more tingles today with all three occurrences with the star theme. I guess it means that we all need to get right with things on a personal, faith, and at all levels. Having this them recur 3 times in the last 24 hours was almost like Jesus asking Peter if Peter loved him.In our minds and hearts God gives us more chances to make amends and face the consequences of our actions. Not an easy task for anyone especially our family members who seem to like to have things their way and place in motion situations that may go terribly and dangerously awry. We need to Follow Christ's light, be the light, and give light. is what #FollowTheStar means to me. When we do this and there aren't any conditions to this we and the world will be a better place in which to live, love, laugh, move, and just. be.
What does #FollowTheStar mean to you ? Take time to meditate on your own!
God you gave us lights in the sky to help us light our way. Help us to follow the light of Christ and lead us away from darkness and into a new dawn of being.
God you gave us light to help plants grow. Help us be good stewards of all living things and in your Cathedral of life.
God give all of your servants who preach the Word tomorrow that they may be given your holy light to shine the words that they will say and make the "Words become Flesh" Inspire our ears as we hear old and familiar texts.
God give us the warmth of your light to comfort all who are ill in body, mind, and spirit.
God give us the warmth of your light to comfort all who mourn and are pre-grieving.
God show us how to Follow Christ's Light and love, Be the lights of love, and give the lights of love to all of our family members who are feeling invisible and marginalized. Help us to be lights of comfort to the least of these.
God show us how to pray when we feel like we are losing your Light. Help us to learn to live as the the living Word your Son Jesus and ask ourselves what He would do when we faced with self doubt.
God bring to light in us those things we need to pray for ourselves and on behalf of our family members remembering especially_________________
God we pray these prayers in the name of your Son Jesus the Christ who brought light to a darkened world. Amen.
