A Time to Celebrate God's Goodness By Being Thoughtful and Thankful ! Prayers of Thanksgiving tonight!

Dear Family of  Love and Dear Ones of  Mine!

Wow it is wonderful to be back blogging tonight! Many of you have heard the news today, but many of you haven't. I had my first year follow up post colon cancer colonoscopy and I bring you tidings of great Joy! I am officially one year cancer free. I feel wonderful about this. I give thanks to God for my Daughter of The King Sister Anita Rockstroh for taking me and picking me up. I'm amazed how good I feel after this procedure than my first one!  So today I ask each of you to make a promise to each other and yourselves never to take life for granted. and count each and every blessing you have. Some blessings may seem packaged in grey tissue paper, but once you open them they are blessings in disguise. Today we open those first because they come as a surprise and we just never know what God  has planned for us with these. Then we open all the other packages of blessings that we have been given and give thanks to God for them.  So today we will pray prayers of thanksgiving and celebrate each moment we live, move, and just be as a chance for new life.

But first let's do the heart labyrinth virtual prayer walk with our mouse and listen to some beautiful music to center us.

God of  goodness and love, as we sit at your feet this night we take time to give thanks in the peace and quietness of our hearts.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for the lives you have given us and yes even the moments where there are times of darkness that helps prepare us to walk in your light.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for our family members nearby and far away. We thank you even for our enemies and those who wish us harm as lessons that love and peace must be shown, given, and practiced.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for times where our health challenges us to enter into new paths of life and wholeness.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for your son Jesus who modeled for us thanksgiving in the Eucharist.

God of  goodness and love, we give thanks for all our blessings this day and help us to count them now in the silence of our hearts or aloud if we need to hear them___________________

God of goodness and love, we pray in thanksgiving for all those who come to us for prayer, help, and a soft place in which to fall.

God of goodness and love, we pray  this night for the people of Nepal and Baltimore and all the many places where there is violence, natural disaster, and terror.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for the least of these who remind us what being a member of your family is all about.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for the elderly, children, and most vulnerable family members who remind us to be caregivers and protectors.

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for all our family members who are transitioning into and who have died and  entered the Thin Places with Joy.

God  of goodness and love, we give thanks this night for ________________________________

God of goodness and love, we give thanks for positive and life giving news.

God of goodness and love we lift up these our prayers and thanksgivings in the name of your son Jesus Christ the Great Physician and Shepherd of  us all! Amen.

Tonight we need to be at prayer! Being with God and at prayer is all we need, along with a heavy and life giving dose of Love.

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

Tonight I decided to take a look back at last year's blog and it looked like something we all could use and adapt.  Tonight I ask that we all begin knitting a tight prayer circle around all areas of our country  and around the world that are plagued by severe weather, natural disaster, and  violence. Tonight we need to be at prayer! Being with God and at prayer is all we need, along with a heavy and life giving dose of Love.

Today's featured Infinity prayer walk music: The Way Soundtrack

God we pray for all those who are in the paths of severe weather, civil unrest, violence, and natural disasters. We pray particularly for our family members Nepal and Baltimore.  We pray for our family members who are in danger and especially those who have lost their lives, property, and livelihoods.

We pray for sound governance throughout the world and that there may be peace on the earth and that all wars, violence, and injustice may cease.

We pray for a climate of mindfulness and that we may not walk in a fog but clear headed and with clear vision to see what is happening in our worldwide neighborhood
and that we may see God in each other's eyes. We pray that we may not pass people by on the road and may we always recognize Jesus in the least of these.

We pray for those who are struggling to find employment all over the world and that jobs may be well paying and permanent.

We pray for all those who are in transition at any stage of life. We pray for all of our young people who are being promoted in school, those graduating, those retiring, and those discerning vocations to ministry and new life paths.

We pray for all of us who are learning to deal with a new normals in our health situations. We pray for those who are ill in whatever place the healing process they may find themselves.

We pray  for all those who work to keep us safe from harm. Remembering the people who fix our infrastructures, law enforcement, military, emergency rescue personnel, and all those who are involved in health and safety.

We pray that we may never stop growing into the Family of God you created us to be and that we may be loving, merciful, grateful, and compassionate beings who respect the dignity of all.

We pray this night for all of those who have requested prayer and those of  whom we have been asked to pray for.

We pray for all of our family members who are finding life a struggle and we remember those with chronic pain and mental illness. We pray that a cure may be found for all memory related illnesses.

We pray that everyone who has challenging work loads this week may find peace and time for rest, relaxation, refreshment, and renewal. We pray that we all may master the art and necessities of rest and sleep.

May we lay down our burdens and worries O God and may we find our bodies, minds, and spirits lightened in order to serve you daily.

We pray for all those who minister to our family members at night especially the Automobile Club/AAA, Emergency Room personnel, Hospice workers, Night Caregivers, and those who work in the Mortuary ministries.

We pray for caregivers of every kind from the Parish Priest to the family member who cares for their aging parents and all caregivers in between.

We lift up these prayers and any other prayers of thanksgiving, remembrance, and celebration to you O God who is Creator, Redeemer, and Holy Comforter. Amen.

What is it about Mondays? Our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits are being challenged. Remember it is You Matter Monday!

Dear Family of Love,

What is it about Mondays? Our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits are being challenged it seems on most Monday's these days. We all need to prayerfully regain our senses as we enter into a new week. This isn't the easiest thing to do when situations like Baltimore, Nepal, ISIS, and all kinds of hate, violence, and discord are continuing to come into play. We also need to include terrible natural disasters that are occurring at an alarming rate on both hemispheres. What do we do? What don't we do? How do we do it? These are our points to ponder this night and for the remainder of the week.

What do we do?

We pray
We take time to educate ourselves on the many issues surrounding racism.
We practice peaceful non-violence
We pray
We love our neighbors and family members more fully and unconditionally. Remember please these may be our adversaries, enemies, and the stranger and alien in our company.
We give generously
We pray
We speak lovingly with gentle voices
We listen with the ear of the heart
We recognize that everyone matters!

What don't we do?

Treat our family members as invisible and that they don't matter.
Incite violence
Post or Tweet items that are not of an educational or positive nature.
Post things that are from non-factual sources
Get into arguments with family members who just don't get it.

How do we do it?

With God's help.
With Jesus as our role model
With the Guidance of the Holy Comforter/Spirit.
With courage
With love
With peace in our hearts
With thought and more thought before we take action.
Without violence
With kind words of encouragement.and using I messages and loving words and tone of voice.

Please take time to meditate on the above items and listen to tonight's musical selection. Remember if you don't like tonight's selection you may choose your own.

Walking the Sacred Path -Dan Schutte Beyond the Moon and Stars

Gracious and loving God we your children are being challenged each and every day with all the tender cares of the world. Please help us to be peacemakers with you that we may lovingly encircle this fragile world of  yours. Let us be knit together in the bonds of love and unity.

We pray this night for Baltimore and all our cities that are experiencing racial  tension. We pray that peaceful non-violent protest will become the order of the day. We pray for holy listening and that calm and peace may prevail.

We continue to pray for our family members in Nepal. We remember especially our family members who lost their lives and  those who mourn. We pray and give thanks for all those who are coming to the aid and we pray continually for their safety.

We pray for all of our family members who are near the volcanoes in Chile that they may be safe from harm.

We pray for our family members who are ill in body, mind, and spirit. We remember especially those who are living with mental illness and haven't a place to live. We pray for Broadway Brad who doesn't have a home tonight and pray for Buena Vista Vince wherever he may be.

We pray for all who are mourning any loss this day.

We pray for listening hearts so that we may hear your call to serve and where you are directing our feet.

We give thanks this day for our many blessings that you have given us.

We pray these our additional prayers for ourselves and on behalf of others_________________

Jesus accept these our prayers and thanksgivings in your Name as we lay them lovingly in your arms as the Good Shepherd of we your sheep. Amen.

Good Night Dear Ones! Take time to tell everyone who matters to you this night that you love them. I love you and give thanks to God for you this night and always!

With love and prayers for a peaceful night in your hearts, heart homes and minds,

Sara
