Keeping the Faith Friday once again with thought and prayer

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

It's Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly and without Fretting ! Once again we are here on another Friday evening where we are privileged to pray and be on pilgrimage in place. Today has been a mixture of many things my dad is getting older and needs to be on one more drug and then have some more heart tests! At 90 years old! I received word from Dr. Vachhani's office that he wants to see me on Monday at 9:00 a.m. Not sure what that means but I'm at least a little bit scared and on Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly and without Fretting no less. I feel all of your prayer juices and love at work so as the old phrase said "What me worry?" I do worry but know that I have to stay in the now and not get ahead of things. Sometimes it's a bad thing to have a mind full of medical knowledge. So this weekend I'm putting all that knowledge into what I used to see on an old computer FILE NOT FOUND or Perpetual Clipboard! So dear family let us pray and pilgrimage in place.
******************

Let's begin by closing our eyes and breathing deeply the Spirit of God. Keep breathing. Listen to the sounds of your house and if you can listen to the sounds of God's Cathedral of Life Outdoors.

Take time to rest, relax, refresh, and renew your bodies, minds, and spirits.

Now Take a look at this picture and reflect upon it!

Or this one!

Now begin to pray and think about what each one of these images are saying to you. Take time to place yourself in these pictures are you walking with Jesus down the road? Running to meet Him?
Staying a few steps behind like a pedestrian Zacchaeus waiting for Jesus to call you to walk with Him? or are You being carried by Jesus lovingly in the light and feeling his love, mercy, and healing grace filling your spirit to the brim and overflowing?

Now slowly begin your prayer list there won't be any long form prayers tonight. Remember the word  those may be replaced with for our family members

Please remember the following:
Those who work outdoors in inclement weather.
Those who are traveling in the rain, ice, and snow.
Remembering today all those who have rare diseases on this National Rare Disease Day.
For family members who are struggling financially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
The Ukraine, Syria, Nigeria, South Sudan, Russia, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan and Uganda.
For the homeless, the hungry, the lonely, and all the least of these.
We pray for all religious leaders who prepare for services and lead worship this weekend.
We pray that all of us may find times of Sabbath Rest and times to be with God and God's Cathedral of Life.
For all those who are victims/survivors of hate, bullying, abuse and discrimination.

For all of our Family Members who requested  our payers remembering especially______________

We pray for__________________________

We give thanks to God for the rain and all our many blessings especially_________________

Half a loop and feeling fine! Taking care of our personal infrastructure!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

Tonight we prayer walked and it felt good to do half a loop. The street lamp that I told everyone about is still out even though Cal Trans said it was fixed. This doesn't make me feel confident about those who do necessary repairs to our infrastructure. Remember what I have been talking about this week? We have been talking about self care.  We all need to take care of our own personal infrastructure. Our infrastructure is made up of a body, a mind, and a spirit. How we do this is of course is a personal choice. and we all have the free will do it or not to do it.  Then again not really. All of these pieces of our infrastructure belong to God and the casings our souls live in are  on loan and will be returned back when it is God's time. So take care of  your bodies, minds, and spirits. Tonight I will post the pictures first and then we will pray in place some more. I love you!

****************

Lord God help us to weather the storms of life and know that you still reside and speak to us even in life's storms and whirlwinds.

Lord God we pray for safety and alertness with the up coming storm and always. Keep our eyes, ears, and minds alert when we drive, walk, or bike.

Lord God be with all our family members who are in danger throughout the world.

Lord God keep us mindful of the lonely, lost, elderly, young adults, and all those whose families are  estranged.

May we continue to be reminded to connect and reconnect with all our loved ones.

Lord God help us to be hope givers,  peace makers, bringers of joy and love light shiners to this broken world.

Lord God give us the courage and strength to take care of our personal infrastructures ( bodies, minds, and spirits.)

We pray especially for ______________________

We give thanks to God for_____________________

We remember this day and always_________________

May we continue to Walk with you on our Journey.
We want Jesus to Walk with us on our journey.

May we continue to be your feet Spreading your love and Gospel Message to the World.
We want Jesus to Walk with us on our journey

May we continue to walk and speak truth to power and continue to do Justice, Love mercy, and walk humbly with you every day that we live.
We want Jesus to walk with us on our journey.

Give us feet, spirits, and hearts that are enlivened to do what you are calling us to do and to be.
We want Jesus to walk with us on our journey.

Give us courage to love all of our family members of differing faiths and may we know that Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, and the Buddha walk with us in love and familyhood.
We want God the Creator who made us all to walk with  us on our journey.

Lord God we know that you walk with us everyday that we live and in the Thin Places. Help us to know and feel your presence every minute  with every breath we breathe, we know that You are the Living Water that courses through our veins, enlivening our Spirits, quickening our steps and expanding and tenderizing our hearts to do your will in your service and in service to others. Amen.

A time of waiting, A time of grace, and a time to pray in place.

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

I can't believe we haven't prayer walked since Sunday! With the weather that is happening here I don't walk in the rain and I'm still a little tender from the procedure yesterday. Today I rested for the most part and am beginning a period of waiting for the results of the biopsies. I was not going to tell you about what Dr. Vachani found but I think it may help us to pray in the right direction. He found and removed polyps and discovered an ulcerative lesion which was also biopsied. We will know more in two weeks. Please pray for calm. I'm not going to get wound up about this until its time. It is one week before Lent begins and we will be entering a time of waiting, a time of grace, and with the weather we are having a time of praying in place. Praying in place for those who are new to Walk With Me On Our Journey, is a day when I/we can't be outside prayer walking. I know what's next! I hope you do to! Let us now pray in place and find peace in this place.

***********************

Dear God Thank you for the rain may it shower down blessings of joy, cleansing , and blessings known and unknown. Heal our drought parched land O God!

Grant us times of waiting and reflection not just during Advent and Lent but at all times of the year. Help us to do this with grace, peace, and an ever flowing spirit of  joy and love.

Give all those who have to wait for results of medical procedures and tests loving and compassionate support systems.

May we always keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open to see our family members who are in times of stress and distress.

Give us the knowledge to listen to our bodies, minds, and spirits when they are in trouble and honor them and do what they are telling us to do through your still small or even not so small voice.

Give us these times to get all the junk in our lives sorted out.

Keep watch  O Lord over ________________________________
Lord  Hear Our Prayer.

We give thanks to you O Lord for___________________________
We give you thanks and praise.

We celebrate our family members, small things, and days that mean so much especially________________

Syria

All places in the world including our own country where our family members are in danger and are deprived and denied of civil, human, and equal rights. Let Justice Roll down.

For  family members with Chronic Illnesses, Mental and memory illnesses, Pain, Cancer, Huntington's Disease, Hidradenitis Suppurativa and all orphan and autoimmune diseases.

Take Care Tuesday The Sequel

Dear Family of  Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

I'm glad today is over and will be getting the results of the colonoscopy in two weeks. I know some of them but want to share the whole story with you then. It wasn't as bad as people say. I am however tired and not so hungry. My wonderful 90 year old dad drove me over and picked me up! How's that for devotion?

Taking care of one's health if I hadn't said it before is a part of everyone's spiritual and life's journey. We mus take neither our physical, spiritual, and mental health for granted. If you are a caregiver, take time to  take care of yourself and do not neglect your physical, mental, or spiritual health. I will be reissuing the caregiver blog again and it will be on the Facebook Page and will be re-tweeted too. I will never neglect those check ups again. GET THOSE BASELINE TESTS AND TAKE TIME TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!!!! NOT JUST ON TAKE CARE TUESDAYS! Let's take time to pray and rest in the Lord.

****************
Dear Lord Help us to take care of  our Temple's of the Holy Spirit and learn to listen well to our bodies, minds, and spirits. May we take care as you take care of us Lord.

God may we learn to take care by resting, renewing, and relaxing by taking daily times of Sabbath rest.

We pray for those who are awaiting test results, having surgery, hospitalized or in rehab.

God we pray for all caregivers and all those who work in home care and hospice.

Lord God we thank you for compassionate physicians and surgeons.

We pray for all of our public safety officers and those who work in ERs during the nighttime hours.

We continue to pray for all who struggle of equal rights at home and abroad. We pray for all who are in danger remembering those in The Ukraine, Syria, South Sudan , Russia, Uganda, Nigeria, and all other places in the world where our family members are in danger.Remembering especially our family members who come to our minds at this moment________________.

We pray for ________________________

We give thanks for________________________

We Celebrate life's celebrations especially_______________

We remember_____________________________

Lord may we continue to listen to our bodies, minds, and spirits remembering that we are hearing Your voice in the symptoms and all other things.

All these prayers we offer in Jesus name. Amen.

Tomorrow is Take Care Tuesday! I'm taking care today. Getting my health in order!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

Tomorrow is Take Care Tuesday and I'm taking care today because I'm having one of those baseline tests we all need to keep ourselves healthy. Remember when Katie Couric had her famous colonoscopy on the Today Show? Well that is what I'm doing tomorrow late in the afternoon. So we won't be walking for the next 2 days.  I put it off due to taking care of Steve and my Dad but now I need and want to be more intentional and serious about my healthcare. In a spiritual sense I'm taking care of the Temple of the Holy Spirit and I want all of you to do the same. Remember today is also You Matter Monday! Here are a few of the necessary screenings:
Men:
Testicular screening
PSA and Prostate exams and T Levels
Skin Cancer
Bone Density- Yes you can have brittle bones too.
Colonoscopy
Make sure you have your breasts checked. Although rare breast cancer can happen in men.
Vision, hearing, memory checks

Women
Pap smear
Mammogram (Do monthly self exams)
Colonoscopy
Skin cancer
Bone density.
Baseline blood work.
Vision, hearing, memory checks

Ask your doctor when you have to have the above and how often and let's make it our challenge in the next few months to get all our vaccinations and booster shots up to date.
*************

God help us not to be afraid to seek regular medical check ups on time and early.

God give us the grace to take care of our Temple of the Holy Spirits in honor  of you our creator.

We pray for all those who lack good medical care and are afraid to seek help. We pray for all medical missionaries at home and abroad.

We pray for all those who have had surgery and are hospitalized remembering_________________

Praying for rain and Thinking of our worldwide family with love

Good Evening Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

We really need to pray for rain! As I have traveled the past few days, I have seen the heart breaking drought conditions that are affecting the cattle, Cachuma  Lake, and the terribly drought affected land. Seeing the cattle from the 101 struggling to find green grass was heart breaking. We all  have to be more focused on water conservation and also making sure we all have our property protected with defensible space. Clear out all of the dry brush from around your property. If you know of an elderly person clear it away for them. We do not want to have any wild-fires that will deplete the water levels even more. That is all for the drought talk.

Tonight as I walked and carried you and your prayers, I was tuned in to all of our family members who we have never met and that we all need to keep everyone on the planet in prayer. We are in a time where there is great fragility and loneliness. That can be all of us from time to time. I believe that our major challenge this week and onward is to be alert to all of us who may be lonely from time to time. We need to love, support, and pray and reach out to everyone or at least our family members around us. Do not go by the assumption  that someone else is doing it. We all need to. Remember we are all called to walk the walk and talk the talk! God keeps telling us that we are to love and be loving. In today's Gospel reading we were reminded yet again to turn the other cheek and to love the unloving and "To do good to those who hate you" God always gives us the tough assignments doesn't he? It really isn't! Just look at everyone as family not stranger and remember the words of the hymn "Jesu, Jesu!"
Refrain:
Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from you.

Kneels at the feet of his friends,
silently washes their feet,
master who acts as a slave to them. Refrain

Neighbors are rich and poor,
varied in color and race,
neighbors are near and far away. Refrain

These are the ones we should serve,
these are the ones we should love;
all these are neighbors to us and you. Refrain

Loving puts us on our knees,
serving as though we are slaves;
this is the way we should live with you. Refrain

Kneel at the feet of our friends,
silently washing their feet;
this is the way we should live with you. Refrain

Change the word neighbor(s) for family and you will begin to see and know how God sees and feels about all of us. This week let's connect and continue to #JustSayHello and show our family that we love them not only with our words and in our deeds. Tell  our family members that you love them and have their backs with words not silent inaction. Everyone needs to be told verbally and shown by hugs, a pat on the back and yes an atta boy and an atta girl won't hurt either from time to time. Don't assume that family know how you feel  or are praying for them either. Loving words are powerful, healing, and encouraging and change the world for the better.
*******************

Gracious God may we love you, our neighbors (family members), and ourselves better and more fully,

Give us courage to reach out to our family members who know only hate.

God give us strength to give love and to receive it with joy and gladness.

Give us courage to set aside areas of jubilee for the poor, the stranger, and the enemy and remember we do this not just for our neighbors but our true human family.

Give us the time to reconnect with those whom we may be estranged. May we have courage to do this with love, grace, and mercy.

Give us the courage to set aside time for Sabbath rest to be with you and your creation.

May we speak truth to power and take action for the benefit of our family members who may be deprived of human and civil rights.

Give us courage to stand with our family members who are outcast, lonely, forgotten, feel invisible, and deprived of human dignity.

We pray for all persons regardless of letter or label who are being persecuted.

We continue to pray for the Ukraine, South Sudan, Syria, and all war torn areas of the world.

We  pray for compassionate immigration reform and the stranger  in our midst who is one of our family members.

We continue to pray for those who grieve losses.

We pray for______________

We give God thanks and praise for ____________________

We Celebrate this day____________________________

We remember those who have entered the Thin Places especially___________

We pray that we may be more loving, compassionate, accepting, and above all connected one to another this day and always Lord God our Creator, Redeemer, and Holy Comforter. Amen.
