Hello Family!

Hello Family of Love and Pilgrims on our Journey!

Tonight I want to lighten things up by making our time together fun! Fun you ask? Yes fun! Quite a few of us have a lot on our minds and hearts. We or  someone we love is ill, having surgery, or awaiting test results. Remember when we talked about painting the town Pink on Black Friday? I would like us all to take out our funny movies, books, and music that will lighten our moods! I'm thinking that Frank Sinatra Songs for Swinging Lovers might just do the trick or then again some kind of music that has bubbly qualities. You  know what that is for you. Get a group of friends and family together for game night, dinner out or pizza in!
Restful and joyous fun is sometimes the best medicine while we are stressed out. Be gentle and kind to yourself. I was reminded when I watched the "View " today that there is an epidemic of loneliness  in this country and that we are losing the art of being connected. No kidding! So Oprah, Gayle King, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta have come up with a campaign called "Just Say Hello!" Let's give it a try ! Hello! Say that to each person you meet! Please take a look at the video below!  Click the back button when you are done!

And this one

This weekend reconnect with friends and family.
Throw yourself a party and invite others.
Take time to rest, pray and be gentle with yourself. Remember tomorrow is Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly and without fretting.

******************

Dear God help us to remember to have fun and enjoy life even when times are stressful. Help us to set a good example of being joyful, spirit filled and loving.

Lord help us to connect with all of our family members not just those by blood but with everyone we meet.

Give us times of Sabbath Rest so that we may connect with you and your creation.

Help us to be and not do so much this weekend.

We pray for all those who have asked us to carry them, their prayers, and prayer requests in our hearts remembering______________

We give thanks for times when our spirits may be enlivened and lightened so that we may show your light to the world.  We give thanks also for you and  the many blessings we name here___________________

We celebrate ________________________________

We remember__________________________________

We pray that there may be peace in the Ukraine, Syria, and South Sudan.

We pray for all those who are sitting bedside by family members who have been hospitalized and had surgery today.

We pray for all of our family members who have been victims of bullying and hate today. May there be an end to all of this and be replaced with love and acceptance.

We pray for equality for all our family members throughout the land and the world.

We pray for the renewal  of  our bodies, minds, and spirits this day and always.

A this we ask in Jesus name who always knew how to get rest and times of prayer by going to those quiet places that meant so much to him. Help us look to him for examples of Sabbath Rest and Self-care. Amen.
