Making everyday a You Matter Monday

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on our Journey!

It's You Matter Monday! This weekend I spent quite a bit of time being online and soaking up the moods on Twitter and Facebook and even out and about. I have been sensing that many of our family members are struggling with depressions of  some kind or other. Lots of family members still grieving  losses and their memories and posts have been quite tender and you could actually feel the pain and sorrow and loneliness, and for some little or no loving and prayerful support from anyone.  We all are faced with our own mortality every time we see someone like Phillip Seymour Hoffman lose his battle with addiction and his passing away so suddenly. We constantly try to grapple with all the unknown reasons and answers which we may never know. This weekend  we have seen lots of haters online again and the tweets and posts haven't been pretty. The gift that God has given me through being a Victim/Survivor of the Santa Maria Groper is an awareness of  how unsure our family members are in responding to situations such as these. I keep hoping that the light will turn on and that some kind of response will come. That may not always be possible when I consider that we don't know how to be in a family based on love,  compassionate response, trust, and respect. That is why You Matter Monday is important every day. We are challenged daily  to love God, Neighbor, and Self. Loving oneself is the core of You Matter Mondays. How do we do this? Why Should we? My suggestions are this.

How do we love our selves?

Taking care of our bodies, minds, and spirits. exercise, pray, and learn something new
Take time to rest, relax, refresh, and renew
 Engage and don't isolate
 Respond  and don't Go Silent.
Connect with family
Reconnect with God
Forgive others and forgive yourself.
Doing a daily feelings journal and see where you are.
Praying for yourself. It's okay.
Giving yourself permission to let go and let God. Giving yourself the courage to show God's Love and Shine God's Light with out fear to the world when everyone else thinks you are crazy.
Getting rid of toxic relationships and associations. Yes, that can mean saying good bye to churches, groups, friends, and this may mean even moving away from the places that have kept you from moving on or going forward.
Find a good confidante! I'm here for you!
Making a pact with yourself that you won't put yourself down and see yourself as worthless but worthy.
Prayer walk and enjoy God's Cathedral of Life.
Respect the dignity of you!
Know who you are and to whom you belong!
Say I love you to you!
Light a candle and say these words 'The Light of Christ in Me, Recognizes the Light of Christ in you! Say that in front of a mirror.

Why Should We?
God Said So!
I say so!
Shouldn't you say so? You matter ! I'd say yes to that, and raise a glass to you if I had one close by!
Before you can love anyone you first have to love you! If you Love God then You love yourself. Easy isn't it? No it isn't, but it takes practice and we have all the time in the world. Let's start now. Take a selfie, smile, and then look at you the most beautiful person God created and tell yourself I Love You! No one is like you and there never will be again. You matter and to me you are precious treasures, and gifts from God,  You were made by God to set the world on fire as a member of God's family and have the look of God's Love in your eyes! So my dear family make everyday a day where everyone is loved, not alone, responded to, and  matters. God Matters, You matter, I matter, Our family Matters , We all Matter! Yippee ! All means all and not some!
