The Promise of Living......... Prayer walking for our government, leaders, peace and our family!

Dear Family !

Tonight and the remainder of this week we will be doing and intentional prayer walk for our government, leaders, peace, and our family! I feel that this week we need to be focused here. When we wake up in the morning do we go on auto-pilot and take things for granted? I think we do, I know that I do. This week's challenge is to write down what you and what I take for granted. Let's see what we come up with . I walked to The Green Album with John Williams and the Boston Pops Orchestra. There were two pieces that I will be putting in the music sampler and also I will add the lyrics in below. The words pack a punch as well, they should. The first one comes from Candide

Make Our Garden Grow- Candide

CANDIDE
You've been a fool
And so have I,
But come and be my wife.
And let us try,
Before we die,
To make some sense of life.
We're neither pure, nor wise, nor good
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house and chop our wood
And make our garden grow...
And make our garden grow.

CUNEGONDE
I thought the world
Was sugar cake
For so our master said.
But, now I'll teach
My hands to bake
Our loaf of daily bread.

CANDIDE AND CUNEGONDE
We're neither pure, nor wise, nor good
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house and chop our wood
And make our garden grow...
And make our garden grow.

(ensemble enters in gardening gear and a cow walks on)

CANDIDE, CUNEGONDE, MAXIMILLIAN, PAQUETTE, OLD LADY, DR. PANGLOSS
Let dreamers dream
What worlds they please
Those Edens can't be found.
The sweetest flowers,
The fairest trees
Are grown in solid ground.

ENSEMBLE (a cappella)
We're neither pure, nor wise, nor good
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house and chop our wood
And make our garden grow.
And make our garden grow!

(The cow dies)

VOLTAIRE
Ah, me! The pox!

The Promise of Living from the Tender Land

The lyrics are by Horace Everett:
The promise of living with hope and thanksgiving
Is born of our loving our friends and our labor.

The promise of growing with faith and with knowing
Is born of our sharing our love with our neighbor.

The promise of loving, the promise of growing
Is born of our singing in joy and thanksgiving.

For many a year we’ve know these fields
And know all the work that makes them yield.
We’re ready to work, we’re ready to lend a hand.
By working together we’ll bring in the blessings of harvest.

We plant each row with seeds of grain,
And Providence sends us the sun and the rain.
By lending a hand, by lending an arm
Bring out the blessings of harvest.

Give thanks there was sunshine, give thanks there was rain,
Give thanks we have hands to deliver the grain.

O let us be joyful, O let us be grateful to the Lord for his blessing.
The promise of living, the promise of growing
The promise of ending is labor and sharing and loving.

As you can see when you read these lyrics there are quite a few things to pray and give thanks for. I give thanks for you and will never take you or our journey or this blog and our time together for granted. I love you !
Have a blessed night dear family. Before your slumber pray for our government, peace, and all of our family members on the planet!

Love and peace of mind!

Finding Balance Yet Again!

Dearest Family on our Journey!

Today started out well until late this afternoon when I had what I call a better than average Grief Bite. I hate these! They can be triggered by just about anything from another act of  senseless violence in Nigeria, seeing pictures of happy couples,  friends having fun,  or supporting family members who may be soon grieving. It never makes any sense to me. The only thing that takes the sting out, is prayer by others and going out and hitting the pavement by walking. At least the triggers didn't happen on my walk. I have discovered that The Beach Boys' "That's Why God Made the Radio" CD can perk one up! I really appreciate your love and prayers! Things will get better. I'm still trying to find out who I am apart from Steve. My love for him was  3/4 of my life and still. It's a good sign when I get these because, it  shows the depths of the love I had and have for him! I know that I can and am able to feel love for someone else. What is weird is that I'm open to new possibilities in that department. I don't want to wait until I'm seventy to feel a new loves" arms around me. That's enough of that my dear ones. Life gets crazy sometimes and I'm not always Little Mary Sunshine but I do recover! That my family is by God's Grace and mercy. I can feel the equilibrium coming back to me now. I love you all! I'm grateful that you are in my life and are soft cyber places to fall. Thank you for your comments on the photos on Facebook and likes. It shows that you care and I feel your love for me. Blessings and peace this night!

Love and peace of mind!

Sara

1900 Page Views! Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!

Good Evening Dear Family!

We have another milestone to celebrate! 1900 Page Views! Wow! Look how far we have come in just a short time! Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow! It is truly something to rejoice and sing about. We are reaching a variety of people and the Daughters of the King will be getting to know us today if they haven't already.

Tonight the weather was temperate and not at all cold. Still didn't have to get the jacket out! I'm thankful to God for this because, we get to walk and not feel like walking and praying polar bears. Soon we will have to bundle up and change walking times but for now we don't have to. I selected John Rutter again everything was going ok until I got to the part on the album where it turned into a Christmas Album. Not good! Too early. I saw some kind of poster for Halloween at a home nearby! Not sure what that was all about either! Still too early!

The matters we focused on tonight are the on going prayer requests and sending out our gifts of prayer, love, and support to everyone and praying for  the needs of our marginalized family members and all of us who still may be experiencing some kind of loss. Grieving can happen when life's circumstances change and I'm here to tell you, that you can't skip steps. But it can be made manageable with family and friends around and the extra starch (prayers) bolstering us up. In times of change we all need each other! Don't try to go it alone. I know this doesn't seem celebratory but there is good news, we  are all family here and we don't have to try to go it alone. Love, prayer, and compassion are key to what we do and experience every minute of the day and especially during our prayer walk hours. You can even Tweet in or post or email prayer requests throughout the day and yes even through the middle of the night! I'm here for you and so are we.
Remember that you are all loved, made in the image and likeness of God and do not need to feel downcast. I love you! I walk for you! I pray for you and with you and  you walk with me on our journey.

Love and peace of mind!

Friday Night Lights and Feelings of Gratitude and God's Grace

Good Evening Family!

Well it has been one exciting day! It finally hit me that I'm (We're) the featured speaker at the Fall Assembly of The Daughter's of the King! It wasn't until I saw my name in print and the name of our Blog, "Walk With me on our Journey", that it all became real. I'm so excited to tell people about the blog and the prayer walking, that I shed happy tears of joy and gratitude  today. I am feeling grateful to you and  most especially to God for this opportunity to share my thoughts and enable those who come to hear my presentation to feel and know God's grace and mercy through these grace and spirit-filled times. What amazes me is that I already feel your love and support  for me. I (We ) walked and prayed to John Rutter's Platinum Collection for our walking under the Friday Night lights music. John Rutter and his music are another good source for prayer walking tool. I guess I'm a choir girl at  heart.

The big take away from tonight's prayer walk  was that we must always show gratitude to God for everything in our lives no matter what. Also we need to have an attitude of gratitude for our family. You are my family and I love you and am so grateful to you that God has brought you into my life. Remember that I always and I mean always will have your back and carry all of your prayer requests both said and unsaid. It doesn't get any better than this. You are both family member and friend all rolled into one. Well dear ones, I love you and hope you have a wonderful remainder of your Friday Evening! Be Blessed, Be joyful, Practice Random acts of kindness, and know that you are loved beyond all measure! I treasure you and your presence in my life.

Love and Peace of Mind,

Sara
