Hitting the trail to familiar places and a little more about me.

Good Evening Family Members on our Journey!

Tonight I call this post hitting the trail to familiar places because, I hadn't taken night shots of St. Peter's Church. This is the place I call my spiritual home. It also was my kind of doll house when I was little. I loved little church and it gave me ideas on how to set up my own Children's chapel at home. My mother Louise was on the Altar Guild and when I got to be a young "Tween" I was part of the Junior Altar Guild at the same time I was in the St. Cecilia Junior Choir. In the old days before we had alarm systems and what not I would go down to the church and practice my piano pieces prior to my piano lessons on Broadway  where Patty Boyd's studio was.  You will see a few of the night shots tonight.  Yesterday at All Saints during a part of the service the children were dismissed for Children's Chapel and were escorted out by a Banner Carrier. We did the same thing when I was a child! Most people don't remember or know that I was the pianist for Little Church!

What are your fondest memories as a child? I have many, but, by the same token I was a victim of hazing, bullying, and physical abuse by other children, and was called many names such as "Jap", "Mongoloid", "Retardo", "Faggot" just to name a few.Bullying and the things I described are never appropriate at anytime. If a child, any child comes to you for help, offer it and believe it! If you see a child or someone who is off in a corner or is at a table  by themselves, go over and talk to them and bring them into your circle. You see, that was and in some cases is still me.Yes things are better but sometimes those painful memories do crop up from time to time. Especially on Friday Nights or when I'm very lonely and feel alone.  I choose to use the negative things that have happened in my life as gifts from God not memories that need to be pushed down and bottled up.What surprises me, is that I actually do fit in now in unexpected places such as DOK, events by the Guibord Center, and I felt a real sense of belonging at All Saints, not that  I don't feel that at St. Peter's but, I'm better suited in larger venues with people with whom I share similar interests. New people  and places give me energy. I'm even learning to accept the occasional photo op! So what if my Asian/NonAsian looks show up! Just watch that side profile! LOL!  It's me after all a child of God made in God's image and likeness ! We all have special gifts. The only thing we have to do is unwrap them and use them for humanity's good and to the Glory of God.

There were lot's of people and concerns to pray for tonight! Don't hesitate to Tweet In or Post your requests. If you don't I will always carry you and your prayer requests in my heart this day and always!
I love you!

Love and Peace of Mind!
