Happy Friday! Our weekend retreat is here!

Good Evening Dear Family!

Happy Friday! Our weekend retreat is here! Remember we are to scale back the use of our digital equipment part of the time. To prepare for our weekend let us do our Worry Sabbath Work by getting out our Jars, journals, or boxes and write down our worries, mads, etc and place them in the boxes and let them alone until Monday. After you do this please return and we will make vigil and pray.Selections from tonight's liturgy are from A New Zealand Prayer Book the Book of Common Prayer.

While you write please listen to this: The Mission Soundtrack

We calm ourselves with the Be Stills along with gentle inhalations and exhalations with our eyes closed and body relaxed.:

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.
Peace be.
Peace.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.
Peace be.
Peace.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.
Peace be.
Peace.

God is spirit, and those who worship God must worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; let the whole earth stand in awe.
Psalm 96:9

Through Jesus let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, the fruit of lips that acknowledge God’s name.
Hebrews 13:15

When anyone is united to Christ, there is a new world; the old order has gone, and a new order has already begun.

2 Corinthians 5:17

O Gracious Light Phos hilaron
O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.

Hail, gladdening Light, of God’s pure glory poured,
Who is the immortal Father, heavenly, blest,
Holiest of holies, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now we are come to the sun’s hour of rest,
The lights of evening round us shine,
We hymn the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit divine.
Worthiest art thou at all times to be sung,
With undefilèd tongue,
Son of our God, Giver of life, alone!
Therefore in all the world thy glories, Lord, they own.

We light our candles and make vigil and pray for all who are suffering around the world. We remember our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Texas, Florida, and all over the world where there are disasters and national stress.

Kyrie for the Magdalene

God help us to be calm and instill our hearts and heart homes with compassion, acceptance, love and mercy and may we have the necessary Love Energy to accomplish the many things you are calling us to do.

God help us to calm down and be more mindful as we go through all the hustle and bustle of  this new season and beyond.

God help us to be more reverent in our devotion and worship to you at church, home, out and about and in your Cathedral of Life.

God help us to take time to care for ourselves and others, being mindful of our needs and our family members.

God help us to be attentive to all of our family members who are ill. Help us to be co-healers with you and that they may know that they are loved and cared for. May we be mindful of all of their struggles in body, mind, and spirit.

God give us courage to examine all the facts in the daily news cycle and speak truth to power.

God give us the mind of your Son Jesus Christ that we may  model our lives after Him.

God give us the courage to lovingly respond and care for your children who are the least of these.

God make us to be the peacemakers that you need us to be to help love, heal, and care for your world and may we lovingly respond to the needs of all  of our family members who are victims of war, violence, terror, and human trafficking.

God give us an awareness of those things that cause us  to be a divided  world and may we learn what it means to be truly your family and love one another.

God we pray for all faith leaders who need the courage to learn how to be united in love, peace, and harmony and accept belief systems that may differ from their own.

God we pray for all who are seeking employment and discerning new life paths.

God we offer our prayers and thanksgivings to you for ourselves and on behalf of those who have asked us to pray and those who haven't the courage to ask for prayers.

God we lift up these our prayers, thanksgivings, celebrations, and remembrances in the Name of your Son Jesus our redeemer, healer, reconciler, brother and friend. Amen.

108 Paratum cor meum
1 My heart is firmly fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; *
I will sing and make melody.

2 Wake up, my spirit;
awake, lute and harp; *
I myself will waken the dawn.

3 I will confess you among the peoples, O Lord; *
I will sing praises to you among the nations.

4 For your loving-kindness is greater than the heavens, *
and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

5 Exalt yourself above the heavens, O God, *
and your glory over all the earth.

6 So that those who are dear to you may be delivered, *
save with your right hand and answer me.

Isaiah 44:1-6,8

44But now hear, O Jacob my servant,
   Israel whom I have chosen!
2 Thus says the Lord who made you,
who formed you in the womb and will help you:
Do not fear, O Jacob my servant,
   Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
   and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour my spirit upon your descendants,
and my blessing on your offspring.
4 They shall spring up like a green tamarisk,
   like willows by flowing streams.
5 This one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’,
another will be called by the name of Jacob,
yet another will write on the hand, ‘The Lord’s’,
and adopt the name of Israel.

6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel
and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
I am the first and I am the last;
besides me there is no god.
8 Do not fear, or be afraid;
have I not told you from of old and declared it?
   You are my witnesses!
Is there any god besides me?
There is no other rock; I know not one.

The Exalted Lord

1Christ Jesus was in the ′ form of ′ God:
yet he did not think to ′ grasp · at e′quality · with ′ God,
2but emptied himself, taking the ′ form · of a ′ servant:
and was ′ born · in our ′ human ′ likeness.
3Being found in our human state he ′ humbled · him′self:
and became obedient unto death,
even ′ death ′ on a ′ cross.
4Therefore God has ′ highly · ex′alted him:
and bestowed on him the ′ Name a·bove ′ every ′ name;
5that at the name of Jesus every ′ knee should ′ bow:
in heaven and on ′ earth and ′ under · the ′ earth,
6and every tongue confess that Jesus ′ Christ is ′ Lord:
to the glory of God the′ Father.′ A′men.
Philippians2:6-11

Acts 18:7-11

7Then he left the synagogue* and went to the house of a man named Titius* Justus, a worshipper of God; his house was next door to the synagogue. 8Crispus, the official of the synagogue, became a believer in the Lord, together with all his household; and many of the Corinthians who heard Paul became believers and were baptized. 9One night the Lord said to Paul in a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent;10for I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to harm you, for there are many in this city who are my people.’ 11He stayed there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

Seek the Lord

1Seek the Lord who is ′ still · to be ′ found:
call upon ′ God · who is ′ yet at ′ hand.
2Return to the Lord, who will ′ have com′passion:
to our God, who ′ will a′bundant·ly ′ pardon.
3‘For my thoughts ′ are not ′ your thoughts:
nor are your ways ′ my ways,′ ′ says the ′ Lord.
4‘For as the heavens are higher ′ than the ′ earth:
so are my ways higher than your ways‿
and ′ my ′ thoughts than ′ your thoughts.
5‘For as the rain and snow come ′ down f rom ′ heaven:
and return not a′gain but ′ water · the ′ earth,
6‘causing the earth to bring ′ forth and ′ sprout:
giving seed to the ′ sower · and ′ bread · to the ′ hungry;
7‘so shall my word be that goes ′ forth · from my ′ mouth:
it shall ′ not re′turn to · me ′ empty,
8‘but it shall accomplish that which ′ I de′sire:
and achieve the ′ purpose · for ′ which I ′ sent it.’
Isaiah 55:6-11
Glory to the Father and ′ to the ′ Son:
and ′ to the ′ Holy ′ Spirit;
as it was in the be′ginning · is ′ now:
and shall be for ′ ever. ′ A′men.

Luke 9:1-6

9Then Jesus* called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, 2and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. 3He said to them, ‘Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money—not even an extra tunic. 4Whatever house you enter, stay there, and leave from there. 5Wherever they do not welcome you, as you are leaving that town shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.’ 6They departed and went through the villages, bringing the good news and curing diseases everywhere.

You are Worthy

1You are worthy, our ′ Lord and ′ God:
to receive ′ glory and ′ honour · and ′ power,
2for you have cre′ated ′ all things:
and by your will‿
they were cre′ated · and ′ have their ′ being.
3You are worthy O Christ, for ′ you were ′ slain:
and by your blood have ′ ransomed ′ us for ′ God,
4ransomed us from every tribe and ′ people · and ′ nation:
and made us a royal ′ house of ′ priests · to our ′ God.
5†To the One who is seated on the throne and ′ to the ′ Lamb:
be blessing and honour, glory and might,
for ever and ′ ever. ′ A′men.

The Song of the Blessed Virgin MaryMagnificat

1My soul proclaims the ′ greatness · of the ′ Lord:
my spirit re′joices · in ′ God my ′ saviour,
2for you Lord have looked with favour‿
on your ′ lowly ′ servant:
and from this day all gener′ations · will ′ call me ′ blessèd.
3†You O Most Mighty have done ′ great things ′ for me:
and ′ holy ′ is your ′ name.
4You have mercy on ′ those who ′ fear you:
from gener′ation · to′ gener′ation.
5You have shown the ′ strength · of your ′ arm:
you have scattered the ′ proud in ′ their con′ceit.

6You have cast down the mighty ′ from their ′ thrones:
and have ′ lifted ′ up the ′ lowly.
7You have filled the hungry with ′ good ′ things:
and the rich you have ′ sent a′way ′ empty.
8You have come to the help ′ of your ′ people:
for you have re′membered · your ′ promise · of ′ mercy,
9the promise you ′ made · to our ′ forbears:
to Abraham ′ and his ′ children · for ′ ever.
Luke 1:46-55 (adapted)
Glory to the Father and ′ to the ′ Son:
and ′ to the ′ Holy ′ Spirit;
as it was in the beginning · is ′ now:
and shall be for ′ ever. ′ A′men.

Tú eres mi otro yo.
You are my other me.
Si te hago daño a ti,
If I do harm to you,
Me hago daño a mi mismo.
I do harm to myself.
Si te amo y respeto,
If I love and respect you,
Me amo y respeto yo.
I love and respect myself.

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith: We give you heartfelt thanks for the pioneering spirit of your servant Philander Chase, and for his zeal in opening new frontiers for the ministry of your Church. Grant us grace to minister in Christ's name in every place, led by bold witnesses to the Gospel of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.    Amen.
Or
Eternal Spirit,
Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver,
Source of all that is and that shall be,
Father and Mother of us all,
Loving God, in whom is heaven:
The hallowing of your name echo through the universe!
The way of your justice be followed by the peoples
of the world!
Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!
Your commonwealth of peace and freedom
sustain our hope and come on earth.
With the bread we need for today, feed us.
In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure, spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil, free us.
For you reign in the glory of the power that is love,
now and for ever. Amen.

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen

I hope everyone is ready for our  period of Sabbath Rest, Self-care, retreat, and renewal. To enter in to our retreat mode let us meditate and pray Mendelssohn's "O Rest in the Lord" from Elijah. Let us read the lyrics and then listen to the song:

O rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him,
And He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
Oh, rest in the Lord,
Wait patiently for Him,
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires;
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
Commit thy way unto Him, and trust in Him,
Commit thy way unto Him, and trust in Him,
And fret not thyself because of evil doers.
O rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him.
Wait patiently for Him.
Oh rest in the Lord,
wait patiently for Him.
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
He shall give thee thy heart’s desires;
& He shall give thee thy heart’s desires.
Oh rest in the Lord.
Oh rest in the Lord.
& wait, wait, patiently for Him.
by Felix Mendelssohn (Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy) (1809-1847), 1846
from Psalm 37

Now listen.

O Rest In the Lord

Tonight let us take time to rest and go deeper into the center and find rest.  Please take time all the time you need and rest. Just sit quietly, breathe deeply, and pray along with the prayers below.

God as we take our rest in you may we seek to come to know you more fully and listen to you with the ears of our hearts.

God as we take our rest in you may we continue to seek ways to be loving to the least of these.

God as we take our rest in you may we find our selves being awakened to new and exciting ways in which to serve  our family members.

God as we take our rest in you may we remember all of the workers and caregivers who do not have adequate respite and the need for soft places in which to fall.

God as we take our rest in you may  we pray for peace in the world and in our hearts.

God as we take our rest in you we  pray for our family members who are ill.

God as we take our rest in you we pray for_______________________

God as we take our rest in you we give thanks for________________________

God as we take our rest in you we pray to an end to violence ,terror, injustice, and abuse.

Again let us engage in the simple "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know
Be still

Psalm 134

1 Behold now, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, *
you that stand by night in the house of the Lord.
2 Lift up your hands in the holy place and bless the Lord; *
the Lord who made heaven and earth bless you out of Zion.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will
give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for
your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or
weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who
sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless
the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the
joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen

The Song of SimeonNunc Dimittis

1Lord now you let your servant ′ go in ′ peace:
your ′ word has ′ been ful′filled.
2My own eyes have ′ seen the · sal′vation:
which you have prepared in the ′ sight of ′ every ′ people,
3†a light to reveal you ′ to the ′ nations:
and the ′ glory · of your ′ people ′ Israel.
Luke 2:29-32
Glory to the Father and ′ to the ′ Son:
and ′ to the ′ Holy ′ Spirit;
as it was in the beginning · is ′ now:
and shall be for ′ ever. ′ A′men.
Gracious God,
you have given us much today;
grant us also a thankful spirit.
Into your hands we commend ourselves
and those we love.
Be with us still,
and when we take our rest,
renew us for the service of your Son Jesus Christ.
Amen.

May the God of all grace
who has called us to eternal glory in Christ,
restore, establish and strengthen us.
To the one true God be the dominion for ever and ever.
Amen.

Good Night Dear Ones! Our theme this weekend will be on how we as people must be receptive to seasonal changes, not just liturgical ones.
I love you, may God give us his blessing, and may we show gratitude, hospitality one to another each day that we live, move, and just be.

With love and blessings,

Sara
