Good Afternoon Dear Family!
Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday I decided to write today's blog a tad bit early! Way early! For the past 3 days we have been using the Disciple's Prayer Book to aid in our study of Romans and the Gospel of the day, we will do this at the beginning of the week only and then head into our more familiar territory. Today we meditate upon the keyword #Righteous and spend time going deeper as we read and study the epistle and Gospel. I have selected Psalm 72 for our psalm of the day as our entrance into our time of Evening Prayer. It was the psalm we said yesterday at our Holy Eucharist and Healing Service.

The Righteous Judgement of God
Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgement on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things. You say, ‘We know that God’s judgement on those who do such things is in accordance with truth.’ Do you imagine, whoever you are, that when you judge those who do such things and yet do them yourself, you will escape the judgement of God? Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? Help not to be know it alls and be woke to understand what is plaguing our inner beings, neighbors, neighborhoods, the least of these, our family members.

Ebba was the sister of Oswald and Oswy, who were both kings of Northumbria. She was consecrated a nun by Aidan and founded the ‘double’ (i.e. there were both men and women there) monastery at Coldingham, situated on St Abbs’s Head (which was subsequently named after her).
