Happy Monday! I hope everyone is well. Yesterday I opted for a Sabbath day away from writing. My hands were cold and sore. This is what happens when the weather changes. Today I'm ready to rock, roll, and write. We honor Dietrich Bonhoeffer on the eve of his birthday!

Living God, we pray for all those whose employment sustains and develops the institutions and resources that help us to understand and live out our faith. May their work never become so holy that they fail to connect with the everyday lives of those they seek to serve; so mundane that they lose sight of the Divine purpose in which they participate; or so familiar that they pursue it in their own strength rather than Yours. God of the Psalmist, give us eyes and ears to hear and watch for holy reminders to grieve injustice. Forgive us when we care more about niceties and “civility” than the rage and fear of our siblings who seek refuge. May it be so.

God give us kind hearts and heart homes to help us make peace in this broken world. May we practice the art of kindness to those with whom we disagree and are in division with.
God give us kind hearts to comfort all who mourn and that we may forever have their backs.
God give us kind and supporting hearts to those who are ill in body, mind, and spirit.
God give us kind and loving hands to love and serve you and all our family members each and every day.
God we pray for all who are dying and who have died that they may have a circle of kindness wrapped around them as they make their journey to You in the Thin Places.
God we pray for all who still face severe weather systems. God keep them safe from harm.
God we pray for all who travel that they may make arrive safely to their destination.
God give all the leaders of the nations and any governmental body kind hearts to know who they truly serve and why they do it. May they remember that if one is denied equality everyone is denied equality.
God let us now with kind hearts offer our own prayers and thanksgivings_____________

Our Celtic moments from the Northumbria Community:
Aidan came to Lindisfarne from Iona in the year 635 at the request of King Oswald. He was a man of deep prayer who meditated on the words of Scripture, equipping himself in quiet for an active and highly effective apostolate. He remained at Lindisfarne for 16 years. In 651, Aidan was taken ill at Bamburgh and died. Cuthbert, who was a that moment looking after his flock of sheep on the Lammermuir hills, saw a vision of angels taking Aidan’s soul to heaven.
