Good Evening Beloved Ones!
Happy Self-care Saturday! This should be Self-Care day every day during this time of Covid-19. This doesn't mean being lazy and not goal directed or a cessation of using God's gifts. As a Daughter of the King (R) I took vows of prayer, service, and evangelism. Today is the feast of St. Mark the Evangelist. What does the word evangelist mean to you? Are you one of those people who are afraid to use the term evangelism and call it the E-Word? Well little children let us take time to ponder what the "E word" means to us personally and corporately. To me it means that I am/ we are called by virtue of our baptism do to the following : Yes we are going to renew our baptismal vows as found in the Easter Vigil.
The Renewal of Baptismal Vows
Celebrant Do you reaffirm your renunciation of evil and
renew your commitment to Jesus Christ?
People I do.
Celebrant Do you believe in God the Father?
People I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
Celebrant Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?
People I believe inJesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
Celebrant Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit?

May Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who

The vow in the bold reminds us that we are called to proclaim by word and example.... Which spells out to me, evangelism a.k.a. The E word plain and simple. We are called to proclaim the Good News, The God News, The Love News! This is needed now more than ever. What does that look like to you? To me, it isn't Bible thumping on the street corner but loving our neighbors, caring for the least of these and calling out our family members when they are not practicing social justice principles and are engaged in "isms", "obias", and destructive and divisive hate. We are also called by God to use the gifts and talents that God has given us. So let us my dear siblings in Christ ,walk in the Way of Love with Jesus creatively and out of the box. Remember we here at Walk With Me On Our Journey have been worshiping virtually almost 7 years going into our 8th year in July. If I can do it, you can too. Today is also the feast of St. Mark the Evangelist!

Mark 1:1-15
The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
As it is written in the prophet Isaiah,
"See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,

make his paths straight,'"
John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Now John was clothed with camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. O God, we thank You for this universe, our great home; for the vastness and richness of our cosmic environment; for the manifoldness of life on the planet of which we are a part.
We are thankful for the morning sun and the clouds and the constellations of stars.
We rejoice in the salt sea and the deep waters and green leaves of grass.
We thank You for our sense by which we experience earth’s splendor.
We would have souls open to all this joy, souls saved from being so weighted with care that we pass unseeing when the thornbush by the wayside is aflame with beauty.
Enlarge within us a sense of fellowship with all that lives and moves and has being in space and time, especially with all who share this earth as their common home with us.
Remembering with shame that in the past, we human beings have all too often exercised high dominion with ruthless cruelty, we admit that the voice of the earth, which should have gone up to You in song, has been a groan of travail.
May we so live that our world may not be ravished by our greed nor spoiled by our ignorance.
May we hand on earth’s common heritage of life, undiminished in joy when our bodies return in peace to You, our Great Mother who has nourished them.
EVENING PRAYER
O God, we praise You for the night and for sleep. Release our limbs of toil. Smooth our brow of care. Grant us a refreshing draught of forgetfulness. Comfort those who toss on a bed of pain, or whose nerves crave sleep and find it not. Save them from despondent thoughts in the darkness. May they learn to lean on Your all-pervading life and love so, their souls may grow tranquil and their bodies may rest.

into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for

For the Oppressed
Look with pity, O heavenly Father, upon the people in this
land who live with injustice, terror, disease, and death as
their constant companions. Have mercy upon us. Help us to
eliminate our cruelty to these our neighbors. Strengthen those
who spend their lives establishing equal protection of the law
and equal opportunities for all. And grant that every one of
us may enjoy a fair portion of the riches of this land; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
For Prisons and Correctional Institutions
Lord Jesus, for our sake you were condemned as a criminal:
Visit our jails and prisons with your pity and judgment.
Remember all prisoners, and bring the guilty to repentance
and amendment of life according to your will, and give them
hope for their future. When any are held unjustly, bring them
release; forgive us, and teach us to improve our justice.
Remember those who work in these institutions; keep them
humane and compassionate; and save them from becoming
brutal or callous. And since what we do for those in prison,
O Lord, we do for you, constrain us to improve their lot. All
this we ask for your mercy's sake. Amen.
For Those Who Live Alone
Almighty God, whose Son had nowhere to lay his head:
Grant that those who live alone may not be lonely in their
solitude, but that, following in his steps, they may find
fulfillment in loving you and their neighbors; through Jesus

Look with mercy, O God our Father, on all whose increasing
years bring them weakness, distress, or isolation. Provide for
them homes of dignity and peace; give them understanding
