Good Evening Beloved Community!
Happy Self-Care Saturday. I have been on the computer for most of the day. I had a board meeting this morning on Zoom. I also virtually attended the consecrations of The Rt. Rev. Diana D. Akiyama, the new Diocesan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon and The Rt. Rev. Anna Greenwood Lee the new Diocesan Bishop in the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia. This morning I began to prepare this evening's blog and looked at the calendar and discovered that 73 years ago today Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated and in 1956 the home of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his family was bombed. Today is also the anniversary of the death of Coretta Scott King. I decided that we would use the lessons for Prophetic Witnesses in Society tonight for our worship. We begin with a mixture of quotes by Mahatma Gandhi and Coretta Scott King. It is truly amazing how these quotes are still current and speak to us today.So let us begin.
