Hello Beloved Ones!
Happy Sunday from the ancestral land of the Chumash peoples. Yesterday I was preparing to write the blog but, I hit the wall. Eyes and mind were tired. We usually do a consistent set of lessons but today we are using Track 2 from the Eucharistic Lectionary with the exception of the Gospel reading which is from the Daily office. The lives of the prophets, apostles, and martyrs were and are never easy. So today we learn how difficult it was for Amos and prophets in general when we check in with the Gospel of Matthew. Which of the above three do you relate to? That is y/our work to do tonight. Today is also the Feast of Benedict of Nursia. Let us tonight learn what it means to be obedient by 'listening with the ear of the heart!"So let us begin!

Lovingkindness (Metta) Prayer
May "all beings" be happy, healthy and whole.
May they have love, warmth and affection.
May they be protected from harm, and free from fear
May they be alive, engaged and joyful.
May "all beings" enjoy inner peace and ease.
May that peace expand into their world and throughout the entire universe.
This prayer is traditionally done for successively wider circles of caring, with “all beings” replaced appropriately. The first round would be for yourself, then those closest to you, then those who you feel neutral toward, then those with whom you have difficulties, and continuing outward until it includes all beings.

A Litany for Economic Justice - From Episcopal Peace Fellowship
Leader: We stand before this Wall of Injustice remembering immigrants, refugees and sojourners in our Bible story. From Eden, all have traveled to the lands of the Earth. The People of Israel crossed the Red Sea in search of freedom, answering the call of God. God of Noah, Abraham, Sarah and Hagar, open our hearts to refugees and sojourners around us. Will you remember our shared history as a refugee people?
People: We will, with God’s help.
Leader: We stand at the Wall of Injustices remembering Joseph, sold into slavery, First Nations Peoples forced from their lands, Africans captured, separated and sold for profit, the dispossession of Palestinians in the ongoing Nakba. We recognize that there are more displaced people on our planet today than at any time since World War II.
