Hello Dear Ones!
Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday! I'm writing this on the land of the Chumash. Today we return to our almost daily blogging. For the past two days I haven't had energy or the internet has been spotty. Today we need to be reminded of the need t lean into God's arms when we are spent. One of our Gospel readings are part of the "Comfortable words" Let us ponder what it means to seek comfort in God when we feel that we cannot go any further. Let us begin with "The be stills":

Let us begin our time together with our mindfulness work and then join fully in our time of worship.
Lovingkindness (Metta) Prayer
May "all beings" be happy, healthy and whole.
May they have love, warmth and affection.
May they be protected from harm, and free from fear.
May they be alive, engaged and joyful.
May "all beings" enjoy inner peace and ease.
May that peace expand into their world and throughout the entire universe.
This prayer is traditionally done for successively wider circles of caring, with “all beings”replaced appropriately. The first round would be for yourself, then those closest to you, then those who you feel neutral toward, then those with whom you have difficulties, and continuing outward until it includes all beings.
Let us begin with our new mindfulness passages:

THE LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES
Lest we forget the great traditions of freedom and faith which are the heritage of humanity; lest we forget the pioneers, the statesmen, the bridge builders, the artists; and lest we forget You, the God of our fore bears who is our God also:

We will begin each day with this opening quote from Proverbs 31: 8-9
Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.
We come together this night to vigil and pray for the family of God and the world. We make vigil at such a time as this because God's family is in pain need, and need of healing and unity. We pray this night on behalf of all those who are afraid and haven't any voice. We pray this night for peace in our bodies, minds, spirits, and hearts. We pray that peace may prevail upon earth and that wars and all forms of violence may cease. We pray that as we light our candles we light them in unity and love for all of our family members including our enemies.
Jesus help us to remember who our neighbor is by praying for our family members below.
