Good Evening Dear Family of Love and God!
Okay dear ones! It is time to take time away from the daily barrage of media surrounding our governmental leaders and go out into the vineyard and give of oneself by serving God and God's family. Too much time is being spent on line and waiting to see what is going to come next in our national nightmare. The more we take time to give, serve, and free ourselves from the bondage of social media the better. Giving and serving can be as easy as rolling up one's sleeves and donating blood, helping in a food pantry, volunteering in a thrift store, hospital and yes even been part of teaching people to read by joining the local literacy council. This also extends into your faith community as well. Remember when we talked about our social justice campaign a few month's back? Well here is the blog as a timely reminder: Today we begin our social justice campaign!
Dear ones you have now been introduced into one of the upcoming things we are going to do for this Lent. As you decide what you are going to pick up and lay down this is the pick up and do part.
Tonight let us again spend time in meditation with the Psalms and daily office lessons. Before we do this let us spend time in silence and light our candles and make vigil and pray.
Dear Ones Let us take time for our Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and be at prayer. Tonight let us pray that we may not be tempted to be led into hatred bigotry,division, and all that separates us from our family members. Let us pray to find strength in God's love to put on the mantle of Love and shine and show God's light to the world. We pray for all who are ill and in any kind of struggle. Let us pray in the word's Jesus taught us in either the traditional or contemporary form:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

God of all compassion, acceptance, love, and mercy we pray for an end to injustice and inequality. We pray for universal human rights and that we may become the voice of the voiceless and let justice roll down.
