A prayer vigil and time of silencing our mind, hearts, and spirits!

Good Evening Dear Family!

Happy #WisdomWednesday! Tonight we are most definitely going to enter our silent zone!

Let's take out our do not disturb signs!

Now take a few deep breaths! Make sure they are deep ones from the bottom of your lungs and diaphragm. Hold and gently exhale.  Now let us engage in our Be Stills!

Be still and know that I am God!
Pause.
Be still and know that I am.
Pause.
Be still and know.
Pause.
Be still.
Pause.
Be.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Tonight I would like everyone to pray for our marginalized family members in our towns, cities, counties, states, country, and all nations around the world.  Let us light a virtual candle a make vigil for them.

God we pray for and light a single candle as we pray for.

The homeless.

The hungry,

The mentally ill.

The bullied, abused, and victimized. The purple candles are in honor and support of Spirit Day tomorrow.

The Refugees, prisoners, captives, victims of human trafficking.

The vulnerable and the oppressed. We remember especially women, children, the disabled, and elderly.

The lost, lonely, and alone.

The LGBT community, their family members, friends, and allies.

The Muslim, Sikh, and faith all faith communities who are in need of understanding and loving care.

All multicultural communities who are in need of understanding and acceptance. We remember especially our Latino and African American family members.

For the invisible, those who consider themselves outcast, and who feel forgotten by society.

For the military veterans who are suffering from their years on the battlefield and on the streets.

For all immigrants, asylum seekers, ex-patriots, and all who are seeking to come to this country.

God we make vigil for all those who live on the margins of society known and unknown. And lift them up to you for strength and for our prayers, love, and support. We pray that we may be Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful. Amen.

Let us visualize ourselves as being in God's loving arms seeking to know God better and feeling God's love encircling us. May we feel the love energy radiating from our heart homes outward to all of our family members around the world.

Let us lovingly pray for all of our family members tonight and consciously know that each one we pray for is a beloved Child of God.
May we all be loving and all be one.

God you are Love, help us to love and be more loving to all of our family members especially to those with whom there is division.

A litany for Sound Government ( From the Book of Common Prayer)

O Lord our Governor, bless the leaders of our land, that we may be a people at peace among ourselves and a blessing to other nations of the earth.

Lord, keep this nation under your care

To the President and members of the Cabinet, to Governors of States, Mayors of Cities, and to all in administrative authority, grant wisdom and grace in the exercise of their duties.

Give grace to your servants, O Lord.

To Senators and Representatives, and those who make our laws in States, Cities, and Towns, give courage, wisdom, and foresight to provide for the needs of all our people, and to fulfill our obligations in the community of nations.

Give grace to your servants, O Lord.

To the Judges and officers of our Courts give understanding and integrity, that human rights may be safeguarded and justice served.

Give grace to your servants, O Lord.

And finally, teach our people to rely on your strength and to accept their responsibilities to their fellow citizens, that they may elect trustworthy leaders and make wise decisions for the well-being of our society; that we may serve you faithfully in our generation and honor your holy Name.

For yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Amen

Pray for those who suffer for the sake of conscience

O God our Father, whose Son forgave his enemies while he was suffering shame and death: Strengthen those who suffer for the sake of conscience; when they are accused, save them from speaking in hate; when they are rejected, save them from bitterness; when they are imprisoned, save them from despair; and to us your servants, give grace to respect their witness and to discern the truth, that our society may be cleansed and strengthened. This we ask for the sake of Jesus Christ, our merciful and righteous Judge. Amen.

Today's advice from I Thrive: The Healing Sounds of Silence.

Day 4

Certain sounds can be comforting, such as soft music, birds chirping or the wind rustling in the trees. But many of us are not often surrounded by those noises throughout the day. Instead we have ringing cell phones, blaring televisions and buzzing traffic—and that’s only the start. One of the most powerful things that silence can do for us is to enhance our awareness of the present moment and all that it contains. Silence helps us be more in tune with what’s going on around us because there are few distractions. And, there is no better place to sit in silence wrapped in awareness than being outside in nature. Mother Nature has all kinds of healing sights and sounds to bathe in. So today, we ask that you make time to get outside and sit in silence. Find a quiet spot outside and sit and enjoy the calming sounds that surround you. This type of silence is not actually quiet, as you will notice the sounds of Nature around you. However, these sounds tend to be soothing and relaxing and do not activate our stress response system. And if it’s not possible to sit outside in nature, then listen to a nature CD or find some nature sounds on your computer to listen to (if you’re on your computer be sure to turn off your email while you do this!) Try to spend at least 20 minutes sitting in Nature to give yourself time to really relax.
Nature in and of itself is healing. A 2015 study demonstrated that brains scans of people who walked in nature had improved mental health. In another 2015 study, breast cancer patients who spent time walking in the woods had an increase in antitumor natural killer immune cell activity. Now that’s some powerful healing

+++++++

Good Night Dear Ones! Have a silent and blessed night of rest and relaxation. I love you and give God thanks for you this day and always.
With love, prayers, and blessings,
Sara
