Good Evening Dear Pilgrims on our Journey!

Happy Sabbath Day! I hope everyone could find opportunities to find Sabbath today. If not find a day throughout the up coming week to do so. Sabbaths can come in small amounts not big chunks of days. Today I was mulling in my mind what our time together would look like tonight in light of the events in Charlottesville Virginia. God keeps telling me that we must find courage to walk on water just like Peter did and stand up against isms and obias of any kind. We as people of faith and that means what ever faith you practice are not let off the hook because we are family in humankind and made in the image of God. Last evening I told you that we would continue Wisdom Week and that is exactly what we will do with our lessons from today's lectionary and interspersed with quotes from Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Mahatma Gandhi and our usual format that we have used throughout the week. These Wisdom masters make it clear that there are risks involved in being social justice advocates, resistance fighters, and disciples of Christ. We must take on these risks in order to make this world a better place. Peace will not come until we make peace within ourselves and each other. Isms and obias must be put to flight and yes put to death or we won't be able to survive on this planet for very long. Isms and obias destroy the do not build. Here is a quote I used on Facebook last evening and it is true.

Let us spend time in silence and prepare ourselves to be God's voice in a broken world.
