Good Evening Beloved Community!
Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday! Wow what a day in the walking world. Today I/we walked 10,099 steps and 4.79 miles and did a few walking laps in the pool that could not be counted because of not wanting to get digital devices wet. Walking is so important for our mental, physical, and spiritual health. I invite everyone to give it a try. God gave us the right equipment to make daily constitutionals possible. Jesus and his crew and other family members featured in the Bible were used to walking a wide array of distances.
A reminder that this is a year of pilgrimage not only in our hearts but in our communities as well. Part of this pilgrimage is taking time to witness where and how God is working in our lives, our service towards the least of these, and how we minister to God in return. For the past few days we have been focusing in on Matthew 25 and what I call Jesus' Seminary of being Awake, Prepared, Using our Gifts (Talents) radically, and reminding us that when ever we care for the least of these we are caring for God as well. In Matthew 26 we are beginning to see the final days of Jesus life and the story of the woman with the alabaster jar yet again and Judas' plan to betray Jesus. We get these repeat lessons at least twice a year. Maybe it is just to keep us present to what God and Jesus want us to know and the lectionary version of teaching us many things. Tonight we are going to spend time with the lessons for the celebration of the feast day of Adelaide Teague Case who was the first woman to teach in a seminary.

O God our shield and armor of light, whom we adore with all the angelic host: defend us from evil; watch over any who are in danger this night and give your angels charge over them; and grant that we may always rejoice in your heavenly protection and serve you bravely in the world; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Let us be at prayer: We pray this night for all family members who have been made by God and are brothers and sisters of God and Abraham. We pray and seek to be loving and united as one. We pray this night and in the daylight hours for peace in our hearts, lives country and the world. May we live justly, be merciful, and walk with God with gentle and loving steps in humility and grace. We pray for our family members who are ill that they may be healed comforted, and relieved of pain and suffering. We pray for the banishment of hate, fear, indifference and cruelty. We pray for all who are traveling and we remember especially those who are alone and afraid waiting in all transit areas. We pray for all who mourn that they may be relieved and comforted. We pray for all who are pre-grieving that they may find solace in you and their family members. We pray for all who are dying and have made that sacred journey into the Thin Places where they may find joy, light and wholeness. Let us pray the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
