Good Evening Beloved Community!

Happy Feast of St. James Day! I'm writing this blog early because I didn't have a community circle tonight. Our facilitator is ill. Please keep Leo in prayer. Also please keep the people who live in Greece, Idyllwild and all areas where there are terrible wildfires in prayer. We most definitely are suffering from bad climate change and drought. Facebook keep asking me in the status window box "What's on your mind, Sara? What's on my mind ? The world's woes! We all must come together and work for the benefit of all. Today we must acknowledge our interdependence upon each other and not only that our connectedness. As pilgrims who are traveling life's journey together,it is no mistake that we are where we are at this point in time. I'm finding that we are called to love and serve God and God's family wherever we are. It is time to step up and step out in love. Today we will celebrate pilgrimage in our lessons as we take time to remember the feast of St. James. Pilgrims from around the world take the Camino to Santiago de Compostela where the relics of St. James the Apostle are kept. We here at Walk With Me On Our Journey are on Camino in our own towns this year as we make pilgrimage to discover our communities and find out how we can be the change and step out in serving God and one another. Let us begin with a Pilgrim's prayer of Thomas Merton.

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think that I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.

And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it.

As we conclude our meditation time let us visually imagine that we are lighting a candle to lighten our hearts and set the tome for our prayers and as we see the candlelight let us remember that we are to hold the Light of Christ to all of our family members so that the pathway may be made plain and safe as we walk together in love as Christ's and God's family members and each other's.

Gracious and loving God as we meet in community this evening to pray and light candles let us remember all of our family members who do not have community, family, where loving shoulders and soft places in which to fall are available. We pray for the lost, lonely, and afraid that they may be found and brought into the family of God and wrapped in a quilt of comfort. We pray for our family members who are refugees, asylum seekers, children in foster care, children who are seeking to be adopted and all who are waiting for their forever homes wherever that may be. We pray that we may practice radical hospitality and welcome all of our family members and especially the strangers who are in our midst. We pray that we may keep our eyes on all of our loved ones and pray that no one, not one will fall through the cracks. We pray that a community of CALM (Compassion, Acceptance, Love, and Mercy) may spring up around the world and especially where there is hatred, violence, terror, and division. We pray that peace, justice, and mercy may prevail upon Earth, that we may be peacemakers and called the Children of God. Amen.

Tonight let us light our Candles and Make Vigil for Human Rights through out the world and especially in our own country.

Jeremiah’s Prophecies in the Temple

7 The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord. ⁸And when Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, then the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold of him, saying, ‘You shall die! ⁹Why have you prophesied in the name of theLord, saying, “This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant”?’ And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

10 When the officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the house of the Lord and took their seat in the entry of the New Gate of the house of the Lord. ¹¹Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and to all the people, ‘This man deserves the sentence of death because he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your own ears.’

The Beginning of the Galilean Ministry

A Song of the Wilderness

Isaiah 35:1-7,10

Coming Persecutions

Whom to Fear
