Good Evening Dear Family!
I have a confession to make, I have family members who are turkeys and goats! Yes, it is true. I walk down to church and to the place where our community circle is held near the Ag Science Unit of Santa Maria High School. I discovered pens of Hen Turkeys, Baby Turkeys, and 3 goats. I have become friends with them. For some reason, I have discovered that I bring comfort to them and they are knowing my voice. I see them multiple times a week. I know that eventually they will be auctioned off at the county fair and I may not see them anymore. God has taught me to respect every living thing as a family member. These convos with these newly found friends have given me a new sense of why we cannot detain families in cages. It is inhumane and not at all a meet and right thing to do. Animals and we all need space to live, move, and just be and not rub shoulder to shoulder, wing to wing, etc. Let us take time for mindfulness moments of space in between tonight's lessons that speak to our hearts about loving our neighbors.

Take some slow deep breaths, hold, exhale slowly, pause and ask God for forgiveness of any wrong actions or thoughts you may have committed today.
Create space for forgiveness and reconciliation in your heart homes, and seek nourishment where you are planting heart roots to be the hands and feet in the world.

Help us to be woke enough not to think of ourselves being the comforted, help us be the comforters and wounded healers.
Help not to be know it alls and be woke to understand what is plaguing our inner beings, neighbors, neighborhoods, the least of these, our family members.
God wake us up to be Woke to your agape love so that we may love everything that you have made. Wake us to be Woke to Radical Love, Hospitality, and inclusion.
Help us to know that being truly woke means being open to radical and random acts of kindness and giving. Where the giver is given and receives much by acts of giving.
Help us to be woke enough to forgive and then find ourselves being actually forgiven
God Wake us Up to Be Woke to know that death isn't the end but only the beginning of a new birth in your heavenly Kindom. Amen and let it be so!
Mark 5:21-43
When Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered around him; and he was by the sea. Then one of the leaders of the synagogue named Jairus came and, when he saw him, fell at his feet and begged him repeatedly, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well, and live.” So he went with him.
And a large crowd followed him and pressed in on him. Now there was a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years. She had endured much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had; and she was no better, but rather grew worse. Why trouble the teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the leader of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. When they came to the house of the leader of the synagogue, he saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. When he had entered, he said to them, “Why do you make a commotion and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. Then he put them all outside, and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was.
